The media could not be loaded. I already have 2 USB hubs with 4 ports. They are ATOLLA and SABRENT brand USB hubs. This IVETTO USB hub is by far the best one out of these3 hubs because: ✔️ It has 7 USB 3.0 ports. I do find myself that 4 ports are not enough sometimes but 7 should be more than enough! ✔️ It has very long USB cable, unlike ATOLLA and SABRENT hubs that have to be very close to the computer due to short cable. ✔️ It has very clear on and off switch for each USB port. ATOLLA has a slide switch, which is difficult to use and SABRENT has on/off push button which is easy but not very clear some times. ✔️ It has LED light indicator for on and off state. Other do too but this one is more clear. This is almost a perfect USB hub and I think only way to make it better is if they can make a nylon braided USB cable so that it's more flexible and easier to use. Easily 5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommend this USB hub for anyone needing to expand their USB ports on the laptop or computer with individual port switch. The individual port switch comes in handy because you don't have to always unplug the device (like external USB hard drive) since you can turn off the port. Does not seem to be compatible with my Dell 2-in-1; which has Windows 10. I tried reconnecting the splitter, and I tried restarting my laptop, could not get the usb splitter to be recognized (although power was flowing through it as I could charge devices with it). Overall, I'm disappointed and will be returning it; I guess I'll go back to using my ($4) 7-way usb 2.0 splitter, because it actually works to connect my: mouse, keyboard, printer, scanner, writing surface, & headset (all at the same time). ... show more

I needed a compact USB 3 Hub with switched ports, and the Ivetto 4-port hub is it! My pc has USB 3.0 ports on the rear panel, but only USB 2.0 ports on the front panel. The Ivetto hub allows me to bring one of the rear-panel 3.0 ports out front and expand it to 4 ports. The switches offer several advantages: 1. Convenience - leave USB devices plugged in & select as needed (esp. as the connectors are very tight!) 2. Security - disconnect USB storage devices when not in use, so they are inaccessible to hackers 3. For Linux users - prevent wrong device assignments at bootup (my USB SSD was grabbing "sda") The Ivetto hub is fairly lightweight, and the supplied cables are fairly stiff, resulting in a "tail wagging the dog" situation. To keep the Ivetto in place where I wanted it (see attached photo), I first tried attaching it with 3M "Restickables", but they started letting go after ~24 hours. I ended up using 3M VHB 5952 double-sided tape (a truly amazing product, also available on Amazon), and my Ivetto hub is now pretty much immovable! ... show more

Updated 10/20 As you can confirm from the listing the "Date First Available" for this product was September 10, 2021. My Oct 4 review was at the time the first review of this new product. Now, it seems a vast number of reviews prior to when this product started being sold on Amazon were assigned to this product. From some comments it appears a USB 3.0 hub product's comments/reviews may have been mixed in. But that will be for Amazon to investigate. In the meantime I would stongly advise sorting reviews by date and disregarding reviews dated before Sept 10, 2021, when this product began shipping to Amazon customers. Or search the web, maybe there are reviews on line. Another caveat: due to mixing in those reviews, it is really impossible to know what the actual rating stars earned by this particular hub would be . Review: 10/4 I have a wonderful 3.0 hub, but found out my new PC had a 3.1 port in back. That's up to 2x faster peak transfer rate, so I thought I'd get a 3.1 hub and connect my drives to that. Unfortunately, this was the one I picked. Got it, powered it up, and connected two external HDDs. Connected through this hub, Windows (Win 7 Pro, 64-bit) did not recognize the drives. I went into the bowels, tried to 'manage' the drives. Window Storage Management showed the drives as having invalid partitions. Then, powered up the old 3.0 hub (Amazon Basics) and both drives showed just fine, as always. Powered down this hub, powered down both drives, and and powered down the system. Retried after that cold reboot. Results: neither HDD was recognized when connected through the IVETTO hub, both worked fine connected to the Amazon Prime 3.0 hub.     • Skip this doesn't work well on Mac or Windows
I purchased this item because I have a mac air and surface pro laptops and I wanted to be able to switch between the two and to have more ports. A lot of the things it claims to do it really doesn't. It didn't work with an HDMI adapter for hooking up a 2nd monitor on either Mac or Windows, it didn't work with an external hard drive using a USB C adapter either. Also I noticed that if you were trying to use all 7 slots, 1 or 2 of them wouldn't work unless you powered off/unplugged something else. Basically anything simple it did work with like keyboards, mice, charging a speaker but anything bigger ...NOPE I would recommend this only as an auxiliary usb hub for all your little stuff, nothing major. I returned mine. If you still need something with this many ports and you don't want to daisy chain usb hubs then you will need to fork out $50-$60 for the better named brands.
