  • Not bad
Was time for brakes ( front and rear) and this kit was about $50 dollars more than gong to the parts store and buying there brand so I decided to give them a shot. They installed easily and after break in seem like they grab pretty good and haul the truck to a stop pretty quickly. Have yet to tow with them yet but soon will have several trips towing on them and will see how they do then. as far as performance I didn't measure any stopping distances or anything just the good ole seat -o-the-pants meter tells me they are at least as good a stock brake set up maybe a little better after you warm them up. cant complain for right now though i'm happy with how they stop and how they look Update: so had them one for a couple of towing adventure and a few hundred miles. They stop a 5500lb truck well. Even pulling my camper and a full truck I feel an improvement in braking. They do have a slight squeal when cold under really light braking ( like backing out of you parking spot light braking) but after they warm up ( 2-3 good stops) that is gone and they grab like crazy. I love em and am glad I upgraded, my trucks front end has been squeaking for two years now so an extra little squeal when the brakes are cold doesn’t mean much to me., besides, they perform so well after they are warmed up a bit I am willing to overlook it. 2 year/ 20,000 mile update: still holding on strong. All squeaks and squeals are long since gone. Still stopping good. Not showing very much wear at all. Tow our camper every couple of weeks and can’t complain about anything. When it’s time to replace them will be buying another set of these, I’m sold. ... show more

  • Great price and great product.
This is the second time I've purchased Powerstop rotors and pads, first time was to install them on a coworkers Honda Accord and had no issues. The only issue I had this time around is that whoever packaged the rotors and pads at Powerstop packaged a set of front rotors for a Jeep instead of for my RAM truck. But I called customer service at Powerstop and they quickly remedied the problem by rushing me out the correct rotors. I've had these on my truck for almost 6 months now and they are still stopping just as well as the day I installed them. Make sure that when you install these you do bed the pads and rotors as the manufacturer states in the instructions. If you don't, then you will greatly run the risk of warping the rotors. I did eventually install rear rotors and pads and did notice more stopping power having them installed on all 4 wheels. They are durable and do hold up well and since switching to these I have yet to have any brake dust coating my wheels like lower end brake pads tend to do. ... show more

  • Giving them a second try
I bought these about a year ago because they had very high ratings for a very good price. Replaced all 4 on my 2016 Ram 1500 Longhorn Laramie. Made sure to follow their specific break in. They worked perfectly fine until they didn’t. I’ve only put about 20k on these. I do drive a bit “aggressively” but not usually with a lot of hard braking still didn’t expect them to last much beyond the 45k i got out of OEM but 20k still seems a bit low. The main problem was that they started squeaking just a little, so i figured I’ll probably have to replace soon. But after only about 100mi it’s like the pads disintegrated on the front. Consequently ate the rotors beyond machining after about 20mi trying to get it to the shop. So as the title says. I’m giving these a second chance, but going to keep my eye on them a little more closely this time. I mean I don’t mind having to replace the pads after 20-25k but the wear indicator should give more than 100 or so miles before complete failure. I’ll update this after i see how these do. Also I’d still recommend them at this point. ... show more

  • 3 weeks after install, started smoking going down hill
I installed these and did the seating process to a T. They worked just fine until I went down a hill for about 2 miles. I didn't have a trailer or any heavy loads. Just me and a few friends in my truck coming from a cabin. By the time i got to the bottom of the hill going about 30 mph the whole time, the brakes were barely there. Smoking at the front. I had hardly any power at my brakes. I checked fluids and everything was good. I've installed many brakes and have never had an issue. I spent more for these brakes so I didn't have to worry about things like this. I don't trust them at all, especially with a trailer. ... show more

  • Satisfied customer
I purchased Power Stops truck and tow brake kit for my 2014 Ram 1500 to replace my old rotors and pads. I'm certainly no auto mechanic but the new brakes fit perfectly, easy to install if you are a weekend mechanic and can handle the tools needed. Make sure you break in the new pads according to the manufacturers instructions. Now after only about two thousand miles the brakes are the best I've ever had on a vehicle, smooth and sure. Very happy. ... show more

  • Great price and looked even better
Good packaging, and they do appear to make a difference over the stock brakes for stopping distance. They are on a 2017 Ram 1500 Sport

  • Buy another product!! Save your money!
I’ve been a mechanic for 20 years. I know how to do a brake job properly (been doing my own for 20 years). Followed all instructions to the letter. These rotors/pads didn’t last 15,000 miles before I started getting pulsation. I’m not hard on them either. I got 80,000 miles out of the last set from AutoZone that were cheaper. Don’t waste your money! ... show more

  • Stops on a dime now
Be warned, the first time you hit the brakes better have on that belt because they will throw you thru the windscreen. Every thing was perfect fit. Wish I had gotten the calipers with them, didn't know mine were leaking until the wheel was off.
