  • Cannot get them to stop squeeking
Purchased these brakes because I have been happy with the brand before, but overall I am unhappy with the ones I installed on my 1 ton truck. Fit and finish looked great and installed with no issues. Followed the break in instructions, even though doing repeated hard breaking on a 1 ton truck full of tools weighing close to 20k is not fun. All was good for a couple days and then squeaking as light breaking. Tried hard breaking again but no good. I took the pads off and sanded the glazed layer off and reinstalled and broke in again, and still squeaks. Guess I will be dealing with the noise for the remainder of the life of the pads....... ... show more

  • Excellent value, will buy for my other vehicles.
Excellent value, will buy for my other vehicles. I installed these front rotors/pads on a 2500HD Silverado with 8.1L I use for general trailering and pulling my 30' 5th wheel camper. Truck had 180k miles on it. The stopping power was significantly better then the OEM "quality" pads/rotors I replaced, but they had 80k miles on them so tough to compare new to new. I used a dial indicator to check rotor run out - one rotor was 0.0015" the other was 0.003" which is out of tolerance (0.002" max, or they should be turned to restore flatness). I'm leery of buying rotors that have been shipped all over, knowing they're heavy and people are careless- one drop and the rotors can be ruined. The brakes performed well after a season of pulling my camper and constant trips to the local home improvement store with a 2,000lb trailer and goods in tow. With only 10K miles on them, it's unknown the overall life. At 190K, it better be the last set I buy for this pickup. 1/2 the price of having a local dealer or mechanic shop do it. I am buying another set for a 2011 Yukon Denali with 105K on it today. Make sure you follow the break in instructions exactly, on a remote highway. ... show more

  • Verdicts out still and the stars have dropped
Below was first impression, the brakes have never got any better and here we are almost a yr later and while doing routine maint. I notice the rotors are starting to rust heavily, so much for zink coating. I guess it is back to EBC brakes. I purchased these once before use on. A 1500 series Tahoe. Was hoping for same experience with these on my 2500HD. Easy install as stock and come with everything needed. I performed the Bedding procedure and just don’t feel like the grab. Hoping they work in. My system has been completely flushed with new fluid. The ABS was bleed and all the air removed from the system. Really hoping they get better. ... show more

  • Good fit
Fit nicely on our '08 GMC 2500. Unfortunately have not put enough miles on the truck to know if performance has improved; the brakes do seem to grab a little better under normal circumstances. Powerstop kits are generally comprehensive and work well so I gravitate toward them for all brake jobs.

  • Awesome set of breaks.
Works great on my 2007 GMC Sierra 2500HD new body style. Just make sure you do the break in per instructions or you get noise coming from them. I did front and rear and very pleased with them. Works good in rain and has dramatically help stopping. I haven't had to tow yet but drive daily on the highway. ... show more

  • Warped out of the box
Finally getting around to writing this review. After putting them on the truck I had that front end shake when breaking that it typical of warped rotors. I brought it to the brake shop to have them check them and sure enough they had to turn them. So the brakes out off the box cost me another $70 to have them turned. Lost life on the brakes and they still fell like they are a little warped on the way home tonight. Terrible quality. ... show more

  • Worth the money.
I bought this kit for my RV. I have a 24 ft Class C motorhome built on a Chevy Express 3500 chassis. Stock brakes are pretty poor causing overheating when going downhill with a small toad. After the change out, braking power has dramatically increased. And no more overheating. Plus the price here is significantly lower than Autozone. ... show more
