Description

The pioneer of Power Planter, Wayne Niewold, and the whole Hydra Fold Auger crew, December 5th, 1988. Our History The incredible background story for our company begins over 50 years ago with the current owner's grandfather, Wayne Niewold. Wayne is the original inventor of Power Planter augers. Still, long before Power Planter came about, he started a successful and growing business called Hydra Fold Auger. Since these large augers were so successful within the farming industry, the idea for Power Planter augers was born. Our Company Today Power Planter is now operated by the original owner's grandson, Greg Niewold. Greg took over in 2013 and has spurred significant company growth while expanding the reach of Power Planter to serve customers across the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, and more. Today, we manufacture and sell more than ten different sizes and models of durably crafted augers. Plant annuals, grass plugs, and bare root saplings with ease. Ensure deep root fertilization. Our tools make it easy to weed garden beds, loosen soil and get rid of the larvae of harmful pests. Tilling with an auger can cut down on the amount of work you have to do for a new or large garden. There’s no need to rent expensive equipment or pay a contractor to do what you can accomplish with one of our machines and just a little bit of time. Help your trees breath. Aeration helps tree roots absorb water and recycle organic matter. Use the tools professional landscapers use to install fence posts, flagpoles, and deck supports. Sometimes, the job requires you to dig horizontally. If you need to run plumbing or conduit beneath a sidewalk choose an extended length auger. Clear straight stretches of drains and gutters. Use a correctly sized auger in PVC drain lines to remove clogs. If you take frequent trips to the beach, bring an auger instead of a shovel to help mount your umbrella, volleyball or badminton net. Power Planter has been serving customers since before the internet was invented. Our manufacturing processes are continually refined to deliver the most durable augers on the market. Power Planter customers receive one-on-one customer support from our team in Illinois. All our augers are 100% designed, manufactured, and distributed in the USA.
