These lamps are better than expected. They have a durable, quality-made base to start with, that just happens to have both USB and 120V plugs on the front to use. The lamp allows for up to 2 60W bulbs making them plenty bright. The shades are very nice-looking and free from obvious defects. Plus there is a handy separate light on the front, not as bright, that you can turn on in a pinch during a movie. My favorite unexpected perk is that this lamp does react to those plug-in sensors that turn a metal lamp like this into a TOUCH 3-way lamp - yep both touch AND 3-way dimmer. So I just leave my lamps technically on all of the time and just touch them to turn on the low, med or high dimmer setting. Even works on the small front light! Just perfect. ... show more

    • Bigger than expected.

I've been disappointed by some lamps that weren't as big as I expected. This lamp is exactly the size I needed -- although bigger than I expected. It has a solid base and a nice shade and casts a lot of light. I'm using it in my home office and it is exactly what I needed. My only criticism is that the threads for the parts that hold the shade are not cut very cleanly, so it is difficult to hand tighten those parts, which leaves the shade a bit wobbly. I'd like to use a pliers to tighten them better, but I don't want to mar the finish. There are two switches on the lamp: one turns on both lights under the shade and the other turns on the task light. The task light is very bright. The regular bulbs (two 60 watt) cannot be individually controlled, so they are both on when you turn the lamp on. The task light's bulb is included; the other 60 watt (maximum) standard base bulbs are not included. I'm using 60W LED bulbs without issue. Overall, this reminds me of a lamp that you might find in a hotel. Again, it works fine for my home office and does what I wanted. So I'm happy with it. ... show more

So I was looking for a lamp that had a professional look for clients and provide ample lighting for desk work. This lamp was the perfect solution.
