Description

This highly portable oil free pancake-style air compressor packs a punch with an induction motor that provides longer life and better performance, whether you’re filling tires or firing a nailer. Complete with a soft-start motor, it can easily run off of normal household circuits and is able to run at 3.5 SCFM for faster recharge of its 6 gallon tank. The motor features replaceable brushes in order to prolong motor life and 150 PSI max pressure to allow for greater run time. It also includes 120 PSI cut-in pressure that provides 30 PSI "Bonus Air" and High-Flo air regulator to protect against a large pressure drop. Was pleasantly surprised by this Porter Cable C2002R oil free compressor. My old one tipped over and broke the regulator and it was situated too close to the "hot dog" tank to be able to unscrew it and just replace the regulator, so I started looking for a replacement. Great buy, works perfect, the higher pressure rating allows the use of a smaller tank to contain an equal amount of air as my older, larger, and heavier, lower psi unit. Instructions were excellent, and the only modification needed was a 1/4 turn drain valve that I replaced the stock one with. Great unit, worth twice the price. ... show more

    • Factory-Reconditioned Porter-Cable C2002R Oil-Free UMC Pancake Compressor
Before puchasing this product, I read many of the reviews, and I must say I was a bit hesitent in ordering. I buy most of the products I use outdoors as "Factory Reconditioned", and to date, I have only had to send 2 back. I simply could not fix them myself. The key to reconditioned products, to me, is not needing to use them on receipt. Plan ahead. Then, if there is a problem, you CAN afford to wait. With that said, I had to send this compressor back. It simply would not send air to the outlet valves, or to the outlet gauge. Was it defective?? Yes. So, I emailed Amazon and they shipped me out a "new" reconditioned item, all tolled, it took 8 days. (ship defective one back, and receive replacement item.) Was I pleased with the service.?? Yes. Did I get what I paid for?? Yes. Was I irritated with the transaction?? No.! Why not, you say.? Because I used Murphy's Law, what can go wrong, may go wrong. The idea that a reconditioned item will arrive with no flaws is just asking too much in todays world. Yes, read reviews, but if you want to save some big bucks for a decent item, plan ahead, and have time. My 2nd compressor arrived on December 12,2011, and when powered up to run for a few minutes to purge water from the tank, everything worked fine. However, when the air bleed was closed on the bottom of the tank, and it was run up to 150PSI, when the unit powered off, there was a slight air leak under the air gauges, which was rectified with 2 hose clamps that were easily installed by me, for an additional $2.00. Powered up to 150PSI and shutting off at pressure, not an airleak to be heard. I'm very pleased with this product for the money paid. And yes, I'm a do-it-yourself homeowner.! ... show more

    • This little compressor is a champ.
I have two small compressors. The first I've had for many years. It works well but is way too heavy. It should have wheels. The Porter Cable is perfectly suited for my needs such as inflating tires, powering pneumatic nailers, blow guns and such. And it is so light. It's easy to tuck away into a corner for storage.     • Regulator broke/ missing inner parts
Received in record time. Compressor looked brand new, up to pressure in 2 minutes out of the box. BUT THE REGULATOR WAS BROKE. On inspection there were no parts inside the reulator except for a spring! Obviously no one checked to see if it worked at all. However, Amazon so far has gone above and beyond to accomadate me (next day shipping for free) on the replacment. Hope it works! Got the replacment today, again record time! Works great! Got is as a gift for my husband and he was thoroughly impressed with the quality. His previous one was a pneumatic and it didn't last even a year. While we could tell the Porter Cable was reconditioned, because when we opened the box, there was red all over the inside of the box we have had no issues with it. It holds air well and it's easy to carry around. We use it quite a bit, have made some shelves in bedroom, installed flooring, made a huge entertainment center, put up a house's worth of crown, base trim, window trim, door trim, etc. The only complaint I can even think of is that it's loud when it kicks on but it fills quickly and it's on for long. I would purchase another for a family or friend or if in a few years this one dies, I will buy another one just like it. It's perfect for what we need. ... show more

    • Loud and leaky by design
First, the unit works and does what it is supposed to do. The condition is acceptable but all the labels look worn-out. However, this unit is exceptionally noisy. In fact it is noisy even when it is turned off. The designers have decided to leak air into the compressor motor all the time to assist in cooling. This is a clever idea, but it means two things. First, the compressor makes a loud hissing noise even when it is not compressing air. Second, even if you are not using any air, the compressed air is draining itself and therefore the compressor must turn itself on again frequently. Really disappointing, however at this price point, I guess I am satisfied. The manual describes this feature as an "advanced fan" but it is an air leak. ... show more

Ordered this from Amazon after a nightmare experience with the same model ordered from an eBay seller. The 'nightmare' unit was over spray painted, stuck drain valve, dirty, stained (used) manual, no air hose and most importantly it did not work. Apparently the regulator was toast. Clearly a broken return they tried to pawn off. Returned unit to seller (crook?). This unit from Amazon looks and runs like brand new. I can open the condensate drain valve with my fingers. Unit came with a new manual and a brand new air hose with connectors attached. Beautiful. Clearly a true "factory refurbished" unit. Tried it out. It went to 150 lbs and shut off automatically. Filled some tires, and the unit kicked in at 120 lbs to refill. Excellent. Good buy! Don't hesitate to buy this product from Amazon. ... show more

Just received the compressor.... a day earlier than expected. Attached my air hose from my old Bostic compressor that went belly up after 14 years (no complaint there). Filled a couple of tires. Tank filled to 150 PSI and auto shut down. Now I will wait to see how long the tank stays at 150. Definitely a big advantage buying reconditioned....looks brand new. ... show more
