  • A Life Changer -- But REMOVE THE SILVERWARE SHELF!!
I have a tiny NYC tenement kitchen. I've upgraded the fridge and oven to the extent that space allowed, but I hated not having a dishwasher. Now that I this have one, and it has truly changed my life. It has multiple settings, but I generally use the Quick Wash, 29 minutes plus a one hour heated dry cycle. It has a small detergent well that uses only a little more than a tablespoon of Cascade liquid per wash. There is a sliding drawer on the top for silverware -- you can see the tracks for it in the photo. My 10" plates (which is the standard size) wouldn't fit beneath the rack, so I removed it, and took the silverware container from my metal dish strainer and put it in the bottom rack (see photo) of the dishwasher and secured it with a twist tie. (It was stable without, but if all the knives, which are heavy, were on one side it would tilt.). I recommend removing the top rack, and puttingt in the silverware holder from a cheap Rubbermade /Dollor Store dish strainer, and just tossing the straining rack. I didn't connect it to my faucet, because my faucet has a detachable spray/stream head. I can hook it to the top opening and let it fill. I just wait for the beeping that says it's full (about 70 seconds), and I'm done. (I also refill it after every load, so it's always ready to go.) At first my glassware was spotty and needed to be wiped. Then I realized on Quick Wash it pauses at 18 minutes (that sound is my cue to go into the kitchen, though it's so quiet I have Alexa set a 12 minute timer at the start of the cycle), and at 17 minutes, it drains. I then pause the cycle, and put just 3 drops of Cascade Rinse Aid onto the bottom of the washer -- spotting problem solved! It washes again until the 14 minus mark, when it empties again, and refills from the well for the final hot water cycle. It then does a heated dry cycle, but if I'm in a hurry to do another load, I put the wet dishes in the old stainless steel rack, which lives permanently atop the unit. The hose drains into my sink — I cut the drain hose cuz it was way longer than I needed it to be, and can either use the suction cup to anchor it to the sink, or let it float free, as in the photo. (And another benefit of the hot water draining 3 times, is when I have a large skillet or pot, I put it beneath the drain hose, so the dirty pot/pan is flooded with hot water — hot SOAPY water after the first cycle — and hence that much easier to clean. It fits the dishes, glassware and utensils from dinner for two with space to spare. It's so fast I do a load of the dishes I used while preparing the meal (spatulas/utensils, mixing bowls, small cutting board, etc...) and they're clean long before I clear the dinner plates and glasses, which become the second load. And its pretty quiet -- can't hear it in the LR of a SMALL apartment with the tv on, and I have a tv in the kitchen, which is perfectly audible above the sound of the wash cycle when I'm cooking. Do make sure to scrape all food off the plates -- it has e a filter that catches anything left on plates, but a quick scrape/rinse saves having to clean the trap (which is easily done). I've had it for over a year, and I LOVE IT!!! ... show more

  • Best Money I've Ever Spent
I live in a small rental, I hate doing dishes and quickly fall into a vicious cycle where I don't clean then my dirty house makes me depressed then I'm depressed so I don't clean. This dishwasher was literally life changing. I have had it for two years now and had zero issues. There are a couple things I have learned about the dishwasher that could be seen as cons but in no way outweigh just how wonderful this little machine is. The drying cycle makes a high pitched noise that I do not love. Glass comes out streaky when I use the drying anyways so I just turn the dishwasher off, open the door, and pull out the rack to air dry. Pods contain too much soap for such a small machine and leave residue, I use a generic powder detergent and fill the cup in the door. I initially hooked it up directly to my faucet which was nice in some ways but I found that it lost its "set it and forget it" ability. You have to leave your tap on during the cycle then turn it off after. I like to start my dishwasher and go to bed so I ended up going back to the top fill option. The filling pitcher doesn't work well for me, maybe if you are taller or your dishwasher is placed lower it would work for you but I end up missing the target and pouring water everywhere. My sink sprayer hose reaches just right to the top, I drape a tea towel over the top of my hand/the dishwasher to contain the spray back when I fill it. Works perfectly. I think the upper cutlery rack blocks the jets from above and hinders cleaning. I got rid of my upper rack and got a utensil cup from Amazon, with the rack gone I can fit full size dinner plates and my small cutting board. I always fill with hot water and I always use the quick setting. This machine is plenty powerful and gets things very clean. Sometimes I get lazy with cleaning the filter and have a load come out with food still on it. Quick rinse of the filter, run it again and dishes come out clean. The picture shows a very light load, I generally cram a lot more dishes in there. I purposefully bought pots and pans that fit in this dishwasher(again removing the cutlery rack makes space for much larger items). This dishwasher was very helpful when I was providing full time care to my newborn niece as well. I used the fruit basket for nipples, bottle collars, and other little parts that some bottles have. Everything comes out absolutely steaming. Far more sanitary than my hand washing abilities. I have used this machine 1 to 5 times a day every day for 2 years and would not want to live without it. Worth every penny and worth every bit of my limited counter space it takes up. ... show more

  • Reliable dishwasher
Solid dishwasher. Used it for two years, and now I'm moving to a place with a full size dishwasher. Never had issues with too big plates like some reviews mention, but I'm just one guy. Filled it with the pitcher and had it drain into my sink. Not too loud to use while on a conference call across the room, and very reliable at cleaning dried food off. I kept the door open to let the racks air dry, and never had any issues with them rusting. Just altogether did exactly what I needed it to do! ... show more
