It was everything I hoped for. It arrived without damage, the drivers even helped me to remove outer packaging so we could make sure there was no damage. It works fantastically. Runs quietly, we can’t hear it over the TV in the next room. I was able to easily figure out how to use it. I plugged my sing and ran a load (on standard setting) and it uses less than a sink full of water per load. The compact size is perfect for our two person household. My only complaint is that it is almost impossible to get all of the water out of the hoses before stowing them, but I solved that by putting a zip lock bag over the nozzles so the water leaks into the bag, instead of onto the floor. I am so sorry that I bought this!! I hate almost everything about it!!!!!!! The hose and power cord are cheaply attached to the back of the machine with a super cheap plastic clip. They do not store inside the machine. The cheap plastic bolts use to attach the hose and cord do not stay tight so water pours out into the floor. They are too cheap to tighten too hard, they will break. The first time , the dishes did not clean cause the water poured onto the kitchen!!!!! It does not clean well even when it stays together but I must babysit it to make sure it doesn’t come apart. I’m am desperately disappointed with this product and wish would have bought a better one!!!!!!!!! ... show more

Idk why there’s so many poor reviews! This machine came to me well packaged & perfectly intact. I use the eco cycle and it cleans my dishes amazingly. All I had to do for installation is attach it to my sink. It’s a little bit leaky in my sink (at the connection) I think some teflon tape would fix it. Main issue I had with this: the plastic mechanism it came with to organize the plug & faucet connections did not work. I’m not sure if it’s the wrong one, but I ended up putting a hook up above where I store this machine so that was he plumbing didn’t leak everywhere after use. If it’s not upright the residual water will spill all over the floor. Overall, I’m very happy with this cute little machine. Now I don’t have to do any more dishes! ... show more

The machine works well and easily. It’s surprisingly quiet other than moments here or there when a setting changes. There is some dribbling of water after disconnecting the hose and bringing it down for storage. Our issue is with the Amazon delivery or the Black and Decker package protection. We’ve now tried multiple machines and every time, they arrive it’s major dents. The first ones were in the front, so we returned it and tried again. This one has major dents in the back, so I told my husband I just wanted to keep it, but we are frustrated that it’s a $700 machine and we are settling with major dents! We may return it and try again. At least now we know we for sure like the quality and functionality of the dish washing function, so that’s good. I wish I believed the next machine would arrive without dents, but I’m afraid it will just keep happening and other reviews complain about the same issue. Black and Decker needs to add more packing protection because I get packages from Amazon and this is not a normal issue. ... show more

    • Poorly designed with exterior hoses but it gets dishes clean.
I prefer to give a positive review, but with the Black + Decker 18” Portable Dishwasher, the only positive thing I can say about it is that yes, it is mostly portable, and yes it gets the dishes very clean. Here's what I don't like. (1) The setup is kludgy. You must screw in the electrical cord in an inconvenient spot under the machine. (2) Worse—and NONE of the reviews mentioned this-- the water input/drain hoses—that you must also attach almost underneath—are external to the machine; that is, they hang on the outside rather than tucked within the machine like my old Frigidaire. (3) Those exterior hoses a) stick out, and b) require you to drain them in a receptacle after use—e.g., gravity drain them into a pan, then hang them on the back to drip. (4) The door doesn't open flat which means that to get into the back of the bottom rack, you must lift the rack from the tracks and lean into the dishwasher, then maneuver the rack back on the tracks. (5) The so-called workspace isn't a butcher-block-style counterpace, but rather just a top with an eighth-inch-high edge around it that makes cleaning awkward. But yes, you can put stuff on it, just don’t, for example, roll and cut cookies. (6). The regular wash takes about 2.5 hours. (7) The Ecowash takes 5+ so don’t set it up between meals. (8) The door is magnetic. What this means is that you can’t pull the machine around by the front because there’s no latch—the door just opens with a pull unless it’s in operation; therefore, you must maneuver it from the back or sides—extremely inconvenient when (9) the wheels don’t roll straight. (10) The dishes don’t dry from the hot water as with other no-dry-cycle machines, and because the door doesn’t open flat, the interior of the machine takes a long time to air dry. Final word. It’s a poorly designed dishwasher, BUT it’s 18”; it gets dishes clean; you can put stuff on top. If you, like me, hate having dirty dishes in the sink, this machine is at least better than a counter-top mess. ... show more

I do not know if this is the fault of UPS, Black + Decker, or Amazon themselves and their fulfillment center, but this product arrived destroyed - not once, BUT TWICE. We waited patiently for nearly 2 months for delivery, only to have the machine arrive with significant crush damage to the box. The appliance was either dropped or crushed from some force. The casters on the bottom were shattered, front panel cracked, and the actual sheet metal of the appliance bent and buckled like a crushed can. Amazon was able to sort out a replacement to be delivered through their customer service department - only to have the second one damaged in the exact same way as the first! 3 months of waiting and hand-washing dishes, this product is to be avoided until whomever is responsible for such foolhardy shipping measures and a lack of care in product protection. Seems we're not the only customers with this problem - so save your time and money, and DO NOT buy. ... show more
