Cheap and does exactly what I needed — I didn’t even realize it was virtually tool-free, as long as you're using a 2280-sized M.2 drive. Unfortunately, my current NVMe enclosure doesn’t support SATA protocol. That was a frustrating oversight, especially since the NVMe enclosure was pricey and I didn’t think to check compatibility. I needed this to finish a laptop repair involving an M.2 SATA drive (with only one slot), and it worked perfectly for exporting data to another system. Now I’ve got a full set of enclosures: 3.5" and 2.5" SATA, M.2 NVMe (40Gbps), and now M.2 SATA. Definitely handy for future repairs and data recovery

The unit works well and gets close to 10Gps. The cover slides on so a proper thermal pad such as the Ortree advanced material layer with one side pink (non sticky) and the other side white (sticky). Using this type of thermal pad allows the cover to slide on easily. The thermal pad has to make contact with cover and nvme without excessive pressure. Getting back to the enclosure, it seemed to do a decent job of keeping a decent temp. 45 degrees C is about as high as it got doing video transfers. Don't need a fan on it just keep it in the open. It is plug and play as advertised.

I rated 4/5 due to how little I use this in my everyday life, but when I need to transfer data or view the contents of a hard drive from a faulty computer, it works perfectly. The V VCOM M.2 NVME SATA SSD Enclosure Adapter has been a game-changer for my storage needs. Setting it up was a breeze, thanks to its tool-free design, and it worked perfectly right out of the box. I immediately appreciated the incredible speed it delivered; file transfers are lightning fast! The quality and value for money of this adapter are impressive, and it's versatile enough to support both NVME and SATA SSDs in multiple sizes. However, I did notice that it tends to get quite hot, though it cools down relatively quickly. Connectivity has been mostly reliable, but I did face a couple of random disconnections that were a bit frustrating. Also, the included USB-C cable didn't feel very sturdy, and I had to replace it for a more stable connection. Overall, it's a solid product that delivers on its promises, with a few minor hiccups.
