This basketball hoop is exactly what we were looking for. The quality is excellent, and it took about an hour for two of us to put together. The directions were clear, and all the pieces fit perfectly. Once assembled, it feels very sturdy and doesn’t wobble, even when the ball hits hard. You can fill the base with water or sand to keep it stable, and it’s held up great through some windy days. This is not my first portable basketball hoop, so I knobs if knew what to expect - the large plastic base that you fill with water or sand, small wheels on one end so it can be moved as needed, adjustable pole, plexiglass backboard, etc. This ticked off all the expected checkboxes. The backboard did seem a a lot lighter than expected in terms of construction. The frame is plastic and the plexiglass backer seemed more “flexible” than I expected. The adjustable pole is done manually by removing the bolts, adjusting height to another set of holes and re-installing the bolts. If you have a wide variety of age groups playing this may be a downside, as you can’t just lower it on the fly for little children then move it back up for teens or adults. Not everyone needs that however, and the easy adjustment just makes for a more involved assembly. Depending on your use case this may or may not matter much. Speaking of assembly, it was extremely simple. Other than my utility knife to open the box and all the parts bags, I only used the supplied tools (2 “wrenches” that fit every nut and bolt in the kit). All the parts were grouped in plastic bags with easy to read stickers telling you exactly what size bolt, and the poles had part stickers (W, X, Y). The manual had very clear and concise instructions and pictures that clearly and accurately showed how everything fit together. All the parts and holes lined up properly so quality control did their job. The basic assembly was easily less than an hour and that was going slow, taking pictures and notes along the way. You would have to try pretty hard to mess this up. In the attached pictures I have all the parts laid out and base partially assembled, then mostly assembled, and the last picture is with the hoop at the lowest height setting. ... show more

It took about 2 hours to build it, so although it appears easy, it does take time. The installation was not super easy and took a bit of re-reading the instructions to get right. You may need a 2nd person to get it done. The build quality is pretty good, though. The only thing even slightly not awesome is the net; it's a little bit too light, so I'll have to wait and see how long it survives.
