This is a review for: "3.9-8.5FT Kids Portable Basketball Hoop - Adjustable, Outdoor Goal with Sand Bag & Wheels for Indoor and Outdoor Fun" We had an adult basketball goal we won in a raffle for a Mountain Dew Ice goal. The backboard was hollow plastic and it came with a big MD Ice logo on the front. The goal was hollow aluminium and had a non-standard number of net hooks. Although I had it filled with water, I failed to realize some had evaporated and a wind storm knocked it over landing on the rim which bent and kinked. I managed to straighten out the rim hoop although with some blemishes but the frame on the rear that supported the back pulled the plastic notches out, which I had to fix with some time and contact adhesive. When this was available I requested it and decided to give the MD goal to my sister for my nephew to use. My son is 9 and the MD goal was just too high to have any fun shooting so I got this for its ability to be adjusted in height. The goals backboard is a bit smaller in width and height compared to the other one but I think that is perfectly fine. Since this one is clear which I also like I ordered a MD sticker to put on it. Pictures will be uploaded later once I am able to apply the decal. Assembly was a bit difficult but nothing I could not figure out since I am visual specially gifted and am able to picture how things go together even though the instructions were lacking. I also have experience with assmbling things so it wasn't too hard to figure out. I really like that I can lift or lower this on the fly. Specifically I keep it on the low settings when not in use also to prevent further damage from wind storms since we live in a wind tunnel at our home, I can keep it low where it is blocked by our shed from the west winds. ... show more

It fits a 3” pole as well. It’s not in the description but I gambled and ordered it. The pole that comes with it is to small. Besides that works perfectly.

Unfortunately, this has been a very disappointing purchase. The basketball hoop arrived defective, with missing parts and one structural piece bent to the point that it was not fixable. Because of this, the product cannot be assembled or used. What makes this even worse is the company’s return policy. If you want to return the product, you are responsible for shipping it back to the manufacturer, and in my case the return shipping cost is higher than the price of the product itself. That essentially leaves the customer stuck with a defective item. Quality control is clearly lacking, and the return process puts an unfair burden on the customer when the product arrives damaged or incomplete. I would strongly caution others before purchasing unless you’re willing to risk both the product and the cost of return shipping. ... show more

The "FirstAsk Outdoor Basketball Hoop for Kids, Adjustable Height 3.9-8.5FT Portable Basketball System" is a nice alternative for kids to get outside and play together. It is made well, easy to assemble, and after the base is filled with sand (or you can use water), it is sturdy enough for them to play with. It is height adjustable so it is versatile and can adapt to my growing kids. I have not had any negative issues with this product so far and my kids play with it several times a week. I feel it is a great item that helps motivate children to be active and have fun while they are doing it. ... show more
