It's the dog days of summer in North Texas, and my AC has sprung a leak in the coolant. Of course it's Friday, and the HVAC guy can't get here until Monday. Thank goodness I sensed this coming last night and ordered this misting fan that was delivered today! This dandy little unit feels sort of cheapie when you pull it out of the box - it's very lightweight and doesn't appear to have much to it. On closer examination, though, I saw that it has variable speeds for the fan, a timer, a light, and the ability to add mist (or not.) The water tank easily holds a quart. The mister is misty without spitting big drops of water all over. And boy, does it cool! I'm enjoying the cool Misty comfort of this fan as I write the review. Easy to use: check. Functions as intended: Check. A good value: check! There is a soft handle for carrying that works fine. The cord is USB C, and ****this unit must be plugged in to work****. It is NOT cordless! But I plugged it into a big charger, and it works just fine. This would be excellent for camping - just bring your Jackery along. As for the value - I think I paid $30 for this, and that was $30 very well spent. Keep one of these on hand for emergencies...like when your AC coolant runs out - you'll be happy you did!

I started to tear into the package, and right off I could tell there wasn't much to it. I have another small desk fan that is all metal, and I thought by the picture that this one might also be, at least in part, metal made. I could tell before I opened it wasn't because of how lightweight it was. I almost laughed when I saw the little blades it has. Little clear plastic blades. I took it to my son's room and plugged it in to his USB lamp. Seemed to be about the right amount of output for a little plastic fan such as this one. I was a little disappointed, but something is better than nothing. I left it on and walked out. A while later I noticed my boy still hadn't returned to his bedroom, so I went in to turn off the fan. Before I say this, I would just like to note that there is only one button on the back of it, the power button. Ugh this is still slightly embarrassing though... Alright. I went in to turn off the fan, and to my surprise, instead of off, it turned to a higher speed. I pressed it again. An even higher speed. Wow! I underestimated this little fan. It kicks out like crazy! I never would have expected a little fan like this to be so powerful. Impressive, very impressive. The only reason for the missing star is because it is so light weight, and has to be plugged in. This doesn't seem like it would be a bad thing, but with the slightest trip or bump it falls very easily. With that being said, it does stand on its base well without turning over. If you have it on top of a dresser and are putting away clothes, for example, it can fall when opening and shutting drawers. I am still very happy with it.

I saw 5 star reviews and was really excited to use this fan next to my bed at night. I plugged it in, added water and ice and i never got a "cold feeling." I gave it a few hours/ all night. The water lever was filled to the top and the mist blower never worked from the beginning. Not sure why? When I woke up and looked inside the water tank to "add more water" I noticed the water I added the night before never moved. So, the water just sits and the AC Fan is just a fan with a water holder built in, lol.
