It's the dog days of summer in North Texas, and my AC has sprung a leak in the coolant. Of course it's Friday, and the HVAC guy can't get here until Monday. Thank goodness I sensed this coming last night and ordered this misting fan that was delivered today! This dandy little unit feels sort of cheapie when you pull it out of the box - it's very lightweight and doesn't appear to have much to it. On closer examination, though, I saw that it has variable speeds for the fan, a timer, a light, and the ability to add mist (or not.) The water tank easily holds a quart. The mister is misty without spitting big drops of water all over. And boy, does it cool! I'm enjoying the cool Misty comfort of this fan as I write the review. Easy to use: check. Functions as intended: Check. A good value: check! There is a soft handle for carrying that works fine. The cord is USB C, and ****this unit must be plugged in to work****. It is NOT cordless! But I plugged it into a big charger, and it works just fine. This would be excellent for camping - just bring your Jackery along. As for the value - I think I paid $30 for this, and that was $30 very well spent. Keep one of these on hand for emergencies...like when your AC coolant runs out - you'll be happy you did!

The pictures do a good job of showcasing the fan, so I'll address the questions I had when ordering, in case it helps others. - The fan is hard wired with the USB-A cable - The fan starts turned off, and then you press the button on the back once for slow, a second time for medium a third time for full speed, and a fourth time to turn it off again. - The fan does not remember the setting you had, so if you turn the USB port off and on, it resets back to being turned off. - It feels heavier than I expected, though I know our brains like to relate weight with quality. But it does feel more sturdy than I expected. Overall, it's a basic yet effective little fan. The cost right now is very low and it seems to work great for my purposes (work bench in our shed).
