Installed fairly easily. Fits our large lateral sliding bedroom window quite well. I especially appreciated the included roll of sealing tape to handle small air gaps around the side of the window fixture, although it seems the tape and device may not be long enough to install in a sliding glass door.

We purchased this kit because we had our AC unit in storage and once it started to get hot we needed a new kit for our new window. I purchased this thinking that it had the connecting hose, it was on me for not thoroughly doing my research! Other than that it served its purpose well, it was easy to install, the size fit our window. You could adjust it as needed. The material is very durable, we moved in this timeframe and all the material was kept in tact when we removed it. This is a great purchase to make, price is worth it.

Debating to rate 3 or 2 stars, because this kit does what it's supposed to do; just not very well. First of all, you'll need to buy real weather stripping as what they send you with the kit is more like scotch tape than padded weather seal. The pieces fit together well, and extended to fit the width of my window. But the window plate is much shorter than the original. The problem with this is that the plate should fit behind the little 1" ridge at the base of the window (bottom of my pics) to make a decent seal. But because the plate is too short, it can't do that because it wouldn't allow clearance of the duct port adapter where it attaches to the window plate at all. To fix this, you either need to cut a piece of something not included in the kit the width of the window channel for it to sit on to raise the plate up so it can sit behind the ridge, and still allow the duct to connect. Alternatively you could balance the plate on the window ridge (as I did temporarily in pics) and try to hold it there with the sealing tape, and pressure from the top window. But you can see from my pictures this leaves significant gap on all 4 sides of the plate somewhere, it's not very secure, and you can't apply much pressure from the window to the plate because the plate is not very sturdy. Your windows might not be like mine, but check to see if you would have the same problem I did before selecting this one. I could probably make this work buy cutting the piece for this to rest on to raise it up, buying real weather seal, etc. but if I had recognized the problem before buying this one I would have picked another that was better suited to fit in the window without balancing it in place or getting a bunch of other stuff to rig this one. It is cheap, and it will kind of solve the problem so that's good. But once you factor in that the duct isn't included, the weather seal is useless and you need to buy that too, and then getting or scavenging something to make it sit properly you kind of eat up another $25-$30 in addition to the cost of the kit. Would have been nice if they had included a screen for the outer side of the port to prevent critters nesting in it. Also note that ducts come mainly in 2 diameters; 5.9" and 5.1". Your AC unit hardware is made to work best with one or the other. Much easier to install if you pick the window kit for the duct size that matches your AC if you want it to look tidy. If you don't care about that duct tape is a wonderful invention. Long story short, it works, but not ideal.
