I bought this because I needed an AC unit, and this was on a smoking deal --$150, delivered. It is an effective little unit, with a few faults. (I ordered the 8,000 BTU model in grey.) First, I believe they have updated the remote. I've included a picture of the one I received. No light-up buttons, but very functional. The unit itself keeps my bedroom at a consistent 72 degrees, right where I want it. The louvres on the front tend to sag, sending my precious AC to the floor instead of up toward the middle of the room, where I want it. My solution was to duct tape them in the pointing-up position (not pretty but effective). Setup was easy. I live in a high humidity area, and have not had any issue with the water pan filling up, nor did I connect the included drainage hose. Wheels are tiny, and the unit is cumbersome to move on carpet, but I really only need to move it twice a year (into storage and out of storage). It is small and fits neatly in an awkward corner of my bedroom, Vents out a window nearby. The vent kit is not the best; I had to hacksaw one of the pieces in half to make it fit my window. Weighs about 50 lbs (average), and is about average in terms of quietness. I don't use the "sleep" function as the unit tends to turn itself off when in sleep mode. I just keep it in cool mode 24/7. I had one of these I paid $500 for a few years ago. It was better, quieter, and had a nicer remote. But it was more than 3X as expensive. For the money, this unit is great. Although this is advertised as a 10000BTU air conditioner I could not get it to cool the room so I returned it. My 9000 BTU 20 year old portable could do the job.

It’s decent, has nice cold air, but the window slat doesn’t fit well and coolness leaves the room just a few minutes after it’s turned off. It also uses a lot of power, over 900 watts on low cool and 110 watts on low fan during rest mode, once the thermostat temperature is reached. Unfortunately the unit doesn’t turn off like others when temperature is reached. Its vents also stay in a downward direction, not up like it should for cold air. You should be able to adjust the vents how you want, but I found nothing that allows that, so I face them at an upward, forward angle using some Gorilla tape. All in all it’s okay just wanted something that used a bit less energy. Thank you. ... show more

Airconditioner cools good and the heat is really good and the heat part on it is cheap on electric it pay for itself in winter from cheaper electric bill and I've used it for couple weeks now and I have not had to drain the water not once

I bought this for my Sons room upstairs and it works very well. Easy to install and able to move to face different directions (he likes to rearrange his room a lot) cools the room decently on extremely hot days! As far as noise level he hasn’t complained but to be fair he’s a gamer and has his headphones in most of the time. Every time I was up there it didn’t seem very loud. ... show more
