Description

Durable and compact, Porta Potti 565E portable toilet makes an ideal companion whenever you're on the road. Works in RVs, trucks, vans or even when you're out camping, offering the comfort of a fully functional toilet. 565E model uses an electric flush pump and comes with removable seat and cover for easy cleaning. The portable toilet has two holding tanks: a 4 gallons (15.14 l) fresh water tank and a 5.5 gallons (20. 81 l) wastewater holding tank. The freshwater tank ensures an average of 56 flushes, with a full tank. The wastewater holding tank comes with a sealed valve, which prevents odors from escaping, and the exclusive Pour-Out Spout, which ensures there's no backsplash during the emptying process. The portable toilet has hidden controls, an integrated toilet paper holder, level indicators for freshwater and wastewater tanks, and has the following dimensions: Height: 17.6 in (44. 7 cm) - from top to bottom - lid closed, Width: 15.2 in (38. 61 cm) - from side to side, Depth: 17.7 in (44. 96 cm) - from front to back.

There were many things that played a huge factor into my purchase of this unit. As a Lady Trucker, proper facilities are occasionally far and few in between or access is often denied (especially for women Drivers) or relegated to bashed up and often poorly maintained Portable facilities, YUCKY! I was looking for height, capacity of both the flush water and most importantly the black holding, stability, as well as being able to accommodate my, err, “fluffy figure!” I’d used the affordable bucket w/seat and bag method for years but though handy and did the job, there was always a tad of uncomfortableness to using this method. Though the Curve takes up a bit more of my valuable space here in the truck is has been a well worth it sacrifice that I literally adore for my everyday convenience. I’ve had this unit in my Semi since January,(a Christmas gift to myself or rather the truck!) and am completely over the moon with just about everything about the Curve. Rarely do I use Public/Business toilets anymore and have zero shame about it though some fellow Drivers knock those of us seeking alternative amenities methods! But they would change their minds quickly given the time and practice! I just yesterday turned a fellow driver onto the Curve and he’ll be ordering on for his truck on his next home time. Are there cons, yes but completely nominal in comparison to not only the conveniences and benefits but other units as well! This cab is completely about the conveniences, user friendliness, privacy of adding the Porta Potti Curve to my daily over-the-road operations! Took my new Thetford out for a test run and LOVED it. First, I'm solo car camping (50+ woman) and wanted to choose more remote camp sites. No more trips to the vault latrines before I've had my coffee! I had my porta potti just outside my tent and used only this for 3 days. It's basically like having a bathroom in the woods. I hadn't realized how much I spent thinking about my strategy for the bathroom or the stress--I'd go so far to say that having this was liberating. I was comfortable (no squatting!) and no smells! A few things--(1) I filled up the fresh water tank completely and then the pump did not work (test before you go!). **But, I don't think you need it anyway. It's heavy so I just emptied it and kept a gallon of water next to the potti. I felt like this was a better option anyway--you'd have to repeatedly press the electric pump button and that feels like a waste of energy. (2) Cleaning it was a snap. I stopped at the camp dump station on the way out and was done in a few minutes. TIP: be sure to give a good shake and a few rinses. ... show more

This was a great product till it started leaking when you carried it with one hand not flat. I received it on 8-3-22 and it started leaking around the end of September. Manufacturer i'd like to return it for an identical one. I'm hoping it's just a fluke.

I just purchased this two weeks ago. I am glad that I purchased this product. Let me start by saying my home is my trailer and this toilet is used daily. My previous portable toilet was a Fiamma and it was great, but after 5 years it could not contain the smell and would leak. I read the reviews of the product and was hesitant to put out more than a hundred dollars on a portable toilet that may or may not have an electric flush problem. Luckily I did receive one that does flush, but as some reviewers mentioned it may go out. I have only had it two weeks...so far so good. I will update after a couple of months and again in one year. Now for my review of the portable toilet itself. I have to say that the Fiamma I had was good, but this Thetford Curve is better. First, it stands taller than my Fiamma and the Thetford feels like a real toilet. It looks much better with the smooth lines and curve, which is nice for when company comes over and they don't have to encounter a square clunker looking toilet and the uptight people will feel more comfortable sitting on the Thetford Curve. The automatic flush is great. It does the job and does not spray up on the toilet seat like t Fiamma's manual flush would do. I am a overweight person and I am comfortable on this toilet. This toilet feels sturdy. I wouldn't sit on the lid (even if I was skinny) because it really isn't made to be sat on. I have just emptied this for the first time. I don't have the greatest back and because of the way you need to hold it with the weight of the waste it is a little awkward and put a little more strain on my back than the Fiamma toilet did. But that could just take getting use to (maybe). But and this is a big but (no pun intended)...I would take the awkwardness of emptying the Thetford Curve over the Fiamma for one reason and to me a big reason. When emptying the Fiamma, it would splash all over (even outside the bowl no matter how fast or slow I emptied) and would come out like "glop glop" which creates more splash. Very unpleasant. But the Thetford Curve was so much better. The little air vent button worked like a charm. There was no splashing. There was no "glop glop" at all. It was poured out like a pitcher of water. Not one splash outside the bowl. It made an unpleasant task bearable. Even if my electric flush didn't work (which it does), the way this empties out made it worth it. One piece of advice for those who do purchase the Thetford toilet. The little air vent button that I like does have a tiny flaw, but can be avoided. Make sure that you do not fill the waste in your toilet up to full. When you go to empty it and it is completely full, when you push the air vent button the waste liquid may leak out where the button is located. Luckily, I did not have the waste close to being full when I emptied it, but found out this minor flaw after I decided to completely fill it with water on my third rinse of the toilet. So please be aware that this can happen. Still, I would get this Thetford Curve even with that tiny flaw ONE YEAR UPDATE: IT HAS BEEN A YEAR AND IT STILL WORKS GREAT. THE FLUSH STILL WORKS GREAT. NO ISSUES AT ALL. ONE OF THE COMMENTS I MADE ORIGINALLY WAS THAT IT WAS AWKWARD TO EMPTY (ESPECIALLY WITH A BAD BACK). I HAVE NO PROBLEM EMPTYING IT AND IT IS NOT AWKWARD ANYMORE...IT JUST TOOK GETTING USED TO EMPTYING THIS STYLE OVER THE FIAMMA. MATTER OF FACT, I HAVE FOUND THAT EMPTYING THE THETFORD CURVE IS MUCH FASTER THAN MY PREVIOUS FIAMMA AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN THAT IT DOES NOT CREATE A GLOB GLOB SPLASHING EFFECT. IT IS SMOOTH TO EMPTY, QUICK TO EMPTY AND MAKES A CRAPPY JOB (PUN INTENDED) BEARABLE. ... show more
