  • Removed Some Gunk
I have an old house and old pipes. I am on a first name basis with my drain cleaning guys. They work their magic, drain is cleared, I pay then $160 every six months to a year. My bathroom sink was running slowly so I tried one of the six flexible "magic wands" from POPULO. I have to admit, I am a novice at this type of work, but I am willing to try and remove any gunk that has built up. I had a tug of war going on with the drain, and I really thought the drain might win. The little jagged points were getting caught on who knows what. I persevered, and was rewarded with a bunch of yucky little black stuff. Tiny pieces of whatever was my reward. I cleaned up the bathroom sink and figured I might as well move on to the shower drain even though it wasn't having any issues. I did get the silver grate removed and thought I would discover buried treasure that looked like hair. I didn't get the long, flexible wand caught on anything, but I also didn't get much of anything out of there. Regardless, my bathroom sink really is draining better, and the shower wasn't running slow, so that is not a problem. I hated to just use the wand one time, but I could not get the yucky black stuff off, so I just pitched it. I guess that is why this came as a six pack. Not bad for about a dollar and a quarter a piece. ... show more

  • Simple but with limitations
These are a quick and easy fix for slow draining sinks. However, they aren't a magic fix for everything. I don't think you would have any luck pushing them through a completely blocked drain. They just aren't stiff enough to bust through. I ran one in and out of 3 sink drains, one of which was really slow draining. I was able to pull out hair from those sinks and get them draining good. I also figured out why they come in a multi-pack. After using the same one in three sink drains it was pretty well used up. As you can see in the picture lots of the little "teeth" were broken off after the third use. Overall though they are worth trying since you can in many cases avoid having to clean the p-trap under the sink by removing it which seems to always turn into a messier job than it should be for me. ... show more

  • Definitely recommend for hair clogs!
Kind of gross, but it definitely works at grabbing hair stuck in drain. Not sure if people saying they don't "fit" down their drain are trying to shove this in past a stopper or what, but they are definitely not too big to use in a standard pipe. I have a 70s home with the standard criss-cross in the tub drain and these worked just fine. Pulled out a big clump of hair (despite the use of hair catcher) and now it's draining great again. Being on a private septic I try not to use chemicals if at all possible. ... show more

  • worked on old bathtub drain
I have an older style bathtub in my apartment that has one of those drains that is only open at one small part further down (idk the name so sorry). Anyways, lets just say it is a pain for clogs. I have used this type of tool before but the drain only broke it up- these populo ones are so sturdy. I do not want to say how gross the hair was I pulled out of the drain but omg I am so glad I got it all out bc we it got to the point that when we took a shower we'd get ankle deep in water it was legit gross. This tool held onto the drain hair for dear life. Also the colors are awesome. Well made!! Drain works perfectly now like new ... show more

  • Not What I Expected
These will work for some, but they didn't quite meet my needs. These are flat and wider than I expected, making them impossible to turn in my drain. They also weren't as flexible as I expected so I could only get them so far down the drain. On the plus side, they're not easy to break and should catch hair well if you have the right type of drain for it to fit in. ... show more

  • They work!
Living with four women that have long hair, these products are great to have on hand. I used one to clean the hair out one of my tub drains. The remover inserts easily enough and is flexible enough to snake it's way down the drain and into the P trap. The barbs on the remover snag the hair stuck in the drain and holds the follicles so the can be pulled out. The only problem I found was they are a little too flexible. These removers can get to the P trap, but can't seem to get through it. As the tool works through the trap, the changes in direction slow the tool down and eventually stop it. When I pushed on the tool to get through the trap or blockages, the tool flexes at a different point and begins to fold over on itself. This would lead me to think that this tool is better suited for drain maintenance rather than problem correction. Still , they are handy to have on hand. ... show more

  • Great drain cleaning tool for great price.
Handy drain cleaning tool at a super price. You may not need six, but you'd pay this much for just one at many box stores. It's a standard drain cleaning tool that helps you remove hair and other stuff from your drain lines. It's strong, plenty long and easy to use. The points on the tool are sharp, so treat it as such. Already used it on a couple drains and it worked well. Aside from being a fine drain cleaning tool the best thing about this product is the value. You probably won't need six, and a drain cleaner may not be the best gift, but they're extremely useful and your friends and neighbors may appreciate the thought. Superb value for a practical tool every homeowner/apartment dweller can use. ... show more

  • Works Great
I used these with my bathroom sink because my wife's hair gets in the drains all the time. These are easy to use and surprisingly stable. They pull the hair right out of the drain just as they should and at the price I think it's a great value and now I can keep one under each sink in the house just in case. ... show more
