It looks well built, functions correctly. It wobbles when using the drill but nothing to be concerned about. I particularly like the bit for the drill; it’s not smooth so the drill can grip it better and that was the main selling point for me. It arrived with rubber coated gloves and 2 small plastic augers that can be used to clog a drain quickly; they’re made to thread them through the drain probably. OK...overall design and sturdiness of this snake is very good. The removeable shaft for use with a hand drill is a hex shape which gives better grip when feeding or retracting the snake. Read the instructions. I used this on my kitchen drain after ailing with liquid drain cleaners and a different snake. The head is a bit small for larger drain pipe, but it did the job by feeding 18 feet or so of snake quickly and with reasonable effort required. At first it seemed to be working well, THEN I realized it was back feeding if I didn't have the advance lever held. As I hit a blockage, I couldn't keep steady pressure against the block without advancing the cable. In reality, every time I push the unit forward, the cable backfeeds. Unit needs a cable lock built into the auto advance/retract mechanism. Also, one's hands will tire of holding the advance lever if the blockage isn't within the first 10'. ... show more

I bought this because I had a slow drain I just couldn't get to flow right, no matter what I did. This auger is built much better than I expected, it's quite heavy duty for a homeowner product. In a half hour I had the drain cleaned and flowing well again. The only complaint would be that mine was missing the hex drill adapter. I simply used a Phillips drill bit, inserted backwards into the drill, leaving the hex adapter face out. It worked perfectly, and was a real help when retracting the cleaning coil-even with the drill on slow speed it took a while to retract, but no problem. This is an excellent tool to have around the the house. You don't need to be a plumber to use it 🙂. The simple instructions are with the quick read to make you think about the otherwise obvious usage and safety procedures. I highly recommend this auger 👍. ... show more
