WOW! I have been looking for a way to get nice curls without using heat all the time. I was really skeptical because this looked like an option that took a lot of practice. If you want to look like the models while wearing the curler, it will take work, but the results are not dependent upon how tidy it looks when you put it on. I can't believe I was successful the first time. Pointers/tips/thoughts: 1. I am 51, which means my hair is dry. It's long, but because it's in a ponytail for working out or in a hat sometimes, and because I color it and heat it, I have a lot of breakage. So, I wrapped all of those shorter top strands first and secured them mid-way up the curling rod with my own silk pony tail holders. After that I wrapped the rest. 2. You only need the one rod, just as the kit comes. My hair is just below my shoulders when straight and there was plenty of rod left for longer hair. That said, a second kit could help to simply be able to wrap those shorter strands if you have the same problem I do. 3. Wrap your hair tightly. You secure the rod with a clip at the top of your head for wrapping (and then take it off), so a more narrow clip is better for getting that tight wrap. 4. There's no other need or metric for perfection in the wrap. It's idiot/klutz proof. I am the living example. 5. I put it in my dry hair before bed, but misted it lightly while doing the other things I needed to do before going to sleep. I think this was a good idea but probably isn't mandatory given how light my mist was. 6. I sleep on a bamboo pillowcase and I strongly believe that the results will be better on bamboo or silk. So while you are buying this product, which you really should if you are at all considering it, I would say also find a bamboo or silk pillow case. It's better for your hair in general and better for your skin too (I have one dedicated just for travel that I bring with me everywhere). But most importantly, you want to have a pillowcase that will not interfere with the results of the curler. 7. I think results would even be better with clean hair. Mine was on day 3 and when I put them in. I combed my hair, but it was otherwise looking terrible. Finally, 8. It was SO comfortable I forgot immediately that I had it on. There was zero interference in my sleep (sleep tracker confirms this statement). Pic of me right out of bed. I literally got up, put on my run clothes, took off the curlers, had a moment of amazement, and right away snapped the one pic. No fussing at all. I can't even imagine what it will look like when I have more experience. This was my first try. If this is bed head I look forward to many more mornings!!!!! (just bummed the first thing I had to do today was go for a run, and it rained- lol) ... show more

I bought this a few months ago and it's just been sitting in my bathroom since then. I used it last night for the first time, and WOW! It looks like I used my curling wand! It helps to watch a video on how to do it, but definitely isn't necessary. My hair was almost entirely dry when I wrapped it, and I used a no-crunch curl holding spray after wrapping it. I'll fine-tune my method, I wouldn't recommend wrapping the very ends of your hair, but I'm blown away!! It was actually pretty comfortable to sleep in as well. I love the idea behind the heatless curling products, I have only used this twice so far so I feel like I need to use it at least 3-5 more times to get the hang of getting my hair tightly enough wrapped around the satin band. When you loosely wrap your hair it doesn't curl the hair a whole lot but it makes it wavy with pretty dang loose curls.. personally I don't like super loose curls, I prefer to actually see the definition of the curl. But like I said it just may be and most likely is a user error. Once I get the hang of it I can see that my curls will come out the way I hope. You may need to put some product in your hair before using to make sure the beautiful curls stay all day. ... show more

I feel like I never need to use my curling iron ever again. I have straight fine hair and to get curls this tight with my curling iron would take close to 2 hours but this rod takes 15 min if that, It’s comfortable to sleep in feels like a pillow. My hair is long and healthy from hard work and using the right products and I know I will probably never use a curling iron to curl my hair again which is a huge plus. Theres tons of different ways to do it on TikTok which is where I learned to basically French braid it into my hair which is so easy bc the rod is the 3rd strand in the braid. This product was recommended to me on tiktok. I curl my hair often or will opt to blow dry it, so I decided to try this roll up curl method. It is a lot of work getting all of your hair to stay in place in order to roll up. I believe it wasn’t worth the struggle, and seeing as my hair isn’t even that thick, I can only imagine how long it might take others to roll up properly. My hair stayed in place for a while night and morning from about 10pm-11am and it was more of a sorry wave than curl. I would not recommend this product if you have thick or straighter hair. It doesn’t really give a full curl effect if that’s what your looking for and it wasn’t really a wave either, for me it was one wav through my whole hair. I love this! I was leery at first about trying it, but I'm so glad I did! I usually have mostly straight hair with a touch of a wave to it. After using this, I have so many curls I don't know what to do! It is easy to use and comfortable enough to keep in your hair overnight. You don't have to use any additional products to get amazing curls. I wrap my hair around it just before bed, fully dry hair by the way, and leave it in overnight. It's easy to put on and easy to take out. My curls last for a couple of days. I just use a boar bristle brush on them and style if I'm in the mood to. Love these heatless curl roller! It does take a couple times of using I felt to get to using it ! It deff needs 8 plus hours I feel on your hair to work 100% I never have that much time so it's never 100% but when I do my daughters hair which goes to bed much earlier then this mama her hair looks amazing !
