The Populo 75 ft/ 1/2 inch drain auger was sent in strong cardboard box with foam padding. It was a bit heavy so using a dolly or having someone help bring it in might be a good idea. It was easy to assemble and is solidly built. The directions were clear and the short videos also helped. Two passes through our sewer line cleared the clog restoring normal flow. Also, the price was good compared to other drain augers. I would recommend this tool if you have a serious sewer line clog. Sitting on a short stool or upside down bucket will help make the job easier too.

This is my 2nd Populo product. Both are great. My first was a small hand held tool that worked great for the kitchen sink drain. This larger automatic aiger is much more heavy duty for main line drain field clogs. I've wrestled with manual snakes for years. I should have bought one of these automatic augers a long time ago. I like the extra large wheels for portability. Awesome product. I called customer support for a directional handle slightly damaged in shipment and they shipped me a new one plus the part it connects to in just a few days. They even added a gift of one of their latest cutting accessories that sells for $30 on Amazon. Nice. Awesome support. Overall Populo is a great manufacturer to deal with.

So far, so good. Have only used it once but it worked well. The instructions to assemble it need more work if a customer has to assemble it.

Unpacking and setup was difficult due to the tip of the cable being wedged inside the opening. After removing the cable plate holder and tapping the tip from the rear with a screwdriver, it was extracted and then the unit performed well. The markings for Forward and Reverse are unclear. No reference point, so one just has to move the handle to the right for forward and left for reverse.

Overall it works well. Sturdy and well built. However, the snake bound up several times inside the drum in the last 15 feet or so. Had to pull through one of the slots, reverse the drum, detach the snake and reattach to clear it. Then could not use the last 5 feet at all for the same problem, binding up. The screw to hold the auger head was so tight out of the box it took me 20 minutes to break it loose. When it arrives, unbox it wherever it is, cutting the side of the box away. The wheels are already attached and you only need to attach the handle and roll it out. Much easier than putting it on a dolly. Pretty heavy. Get a chair or stool and get comfortable if you’re doing a long drain. I have a French drain in my driveway that took the full 100 feet. It took a while.
