Although I feel a bit odd writing a review on a “chicken” pet toy that we purchased for our small mini-Schnauzer puppy (10 pounds), here goes. We saw these pet toys on Amazon and decided it would be a fun toy for him as he has lots of energy. We ordered the chicken and it arrived promptly. It arrived in a fancy box which was probably intended to suggest a high quality toy was enclosed. We gave the chicken to him, and he cautiously started tossing it around and playing with it. In less than two hours, one of the chicken’s feet had split and a dime-sized piece torn out, leaving a jagged edge. So we picked up the small piece and discarded it as it presented a choking hazard to our dog. The toy was also set aside out of his reach out of concern that more pieces would be produced. I should note that over the years we have purchased many, many pet toys. This is not rocket science; however, this particular chicken pet toy is made out of a sort of stiff plastic…not a rubbery material that we normally see in pet toys. The rubbery type withstands pulls, bites, and more rough-housing than this poor chicken toy could ever stand. He has many other toys that continue to survive, so I don't think we have an extraordinarily rough dog. Although there are many different dogs with different play habits, different bite strength, etc., for a toy to last less than two hours with a small, dog does not give us any confidence in the making of this product. Further, the fact that it produced small pieces that could choke our puppy was a concerning safety issue for us. So we would advise against purchase of this product. My 4 yr old was devastated two days after having her "Bok Bok" chicken (that was his name), one afternoon he didnt make his screeching noise anymore. Wanna know why? The evening of day two...after I won him from the claw machine at an arcade...we brought him home..everything was good 'til she got carried away blowing air in his mouth, and stepping on him to get a more extreme, devastating screech noise...After about 4 times of her doing this and her, her siblings, and I laughing hysterically bc of the death noise Mr. Bok Bok made...it really was finally the death of him. No matter how much we tried to fix him he wouldnt make that sound any longer. After explaining this to my 4 yr old she was devastated and started crying when I told her that he couldnt make the sound no more. She said "But his eyes are still open." I told her his voice is gone bye bye...and she continued to wail. So I decided to be Mama to the rescue...and try to find another Bok Bok online. Got lucky and found the replacement for 6 bucks here on Amazon. I showed my 4 yr old that her new Bok Bok would be coming in the mail soon...and she squealed with excitement. My teenager wasnt too happy though since she'd have to deal with the "noise" again. However, my 4 yr old and her replacement Bok Bok chicken are now living happily ever after and she learned not to ever stomp on him or blow air into him again!
