Worked great for several weeks with no issues.. then one day I had a fire burning and one of the sides just started to crumble. It is still usable but is unsightly and crumbles a little more each time I have a fire. Would like some sort of resolution to this

Bought this in Feb. 2019 for our camping trips this spring and summer, as most fire rings have no air flow or are in wrong place. Upon receipt, read instructions on set up and use. Couldn't wait for our camping trip so put it up on our patio, set up easy, some dry twigs and rolled paper towels more than enough to start split fire wood. Great fire little smoke and burned down to ash, next day dumped ash shook screen and put back in carry bag. Early March used, in FL state park camping trip same results, heat shield worked grass not even scorched, empty ashes each day, on the 4th day noticed a tear in the wire mesh screen. Called C/S and they suggested a flaw in the screen and immediately sent out a replacement that was at home when we returned. Have used the Fire Pit now for many fires at home on the patio and in the woods on our trips, the latest in Northern MN working great, fire is at eye level and all wood burns down to ash. It packs up in its carry case for easy storage and set up for next time. All in all very happy with this Pop Up Fire Pit we no longer use the fire pits furnished at the campsites starts with some paper towel, newspaper or other paper and pick up dry twigs for kindling and firewood, see picture's. ... show more

    • nice idea but one time use.
purchased for rv camping and wanted something collapsible to store in rv after use. it looks good, easy enough to set up... but.....the bottom barrier to save the grass/ keep heat off ground, lasted one evening and crumpled to dust. we watched the video before set up so i know we did nothing wrong, it was all the way at the bottom so it was not as close as they suggested to the heat. Also, the mesh that holds the logs developed a small tear (after one use), and this was all after putting a few natural logs for one short evening. We have not used again because afraid it will all disintegrate. The return window closed before I used it so im stuck. AND!!! beware, sharp edges so keep kids away because the sharp corners seem more dangerous than the fire. There should be some kind of corner toppers that could be added for safety when using around kids. This was not even close to my expectations. I may save the frame to DIY the next fire. ... show more

We love camping & especially a good camp fire. We were looking for a new fire pit for our tiny backyard, but everything was too large. Not only that, other decorative pits blocked the view of the fire ~ which is my favorite part! This compact fire pit is the perfect solution! We've had really nice size fires with very little clean up. The Pop-up Fire Pit's mesh base allows much more airflow than a traditional pit. We hardly had to tend it at all! Clean up was a breeze. We just hosed it off & hung it to dry for a few minutes. Can't wait to take it on some adventures! Two Issues: 1. The edges of the 4 pieces which make up the ember guard/tray are really sharp. Our kids will be handling the pieces so we ended up sanding them down. 2. For the price, we were expecting a more substantial carry bag. This one is fine for now, but we're probably going to make a stronger bag out of canvas. ... show more

    • Burns cleaner then a fire pit. Innovative design.
Well thought out design that really does allow a lot of air to support a blazing fire. Sets up in about 3 minutes; tears down in about 5 because it’s challenging to lift the screen off from below. Super easy to start a fire, but be prepared to feed a lot of wood because of the efficient burn. Because the fire is so well ventilated, you can expect less smoke then a pit fire, but it’s hardly smokeless so expect to move around the fire a bit in a shifty breeze. It’s a treat to sit around once the fire is down to coals and there’s no smoke! As to cons: the rails are pretty thin and flexible. These can be bent easily by hand. I was expecting more rigid material. That said, they do their job and keep down the weight; the screen clogs a bit and needs some wire brushing after use to keeps the mesh open; and as I pointed out earlier, the screen can be a bit challenging to pry out. The screen grommets end up sitting on the rails with no space available to get underneath and coax up. A work around is to not put the screen all the way down to the rails when setting up—leave a 1/2” of space between the grommets and the rail bottoms. Side note: I bought this from Amazon Wearhouse in “as new condition.” It arrived in poor condition, not just used, but absolutely covered in soot, with bent and burned rails, and a screen clogged with ash and burnt food. It took me an hour and a half of scrubbing and pounding with a rubber mallet to clean it up and straighten the rails. Amazon apologized and provided an appropriate discount so all is well. ... show more

THIS DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE A STAR! THIS IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL WE JUST GOT THIS 3/18/21 AND THE FIRE PIT IS ALREADY DESTROYED!!!!! WE HAD A FIRE NO KORE THAN 3 HOURS GOING AND THE BOTTOM FIRE SHEILD FELL THROUGH THE SIDES ARE BURNT AND MELTED!!!! I did a lot of looking for a moveable fire pit. I really wanted the biolite fire pit. But I did not like the idea of listening to a fan , I just wanted to enjoy a fire. So I found this one. It's simple , it was cheaper and works very well. holds more wood than you think. IT's almost smoke free. and does not seem to leave any ashes on the ground. I could not be more pleased. This is awesome for RV owners. We use it often and we love it. Very easy to set up, and take down. It generates a great fire as there is no shortage of air flow to the fire. Cools down very quickly, and the wood burns down to a very fine ash. We are glad we found this because not all campgrounds provide fire pits. We also use it when we dry camp. ... show more
