  • This duck isn't all it's quacked up to be...
Style: Mallard
I bought this duck in December of 2019. It is broken, now, in August of 2020. So, it only lasted eight months, simply floating in my pool. The mallard developed a crack in it's underbelly (not THAT crack, you pervs), which caused it to take on water and sink. Due to the fact that I feel like I completely wasted my money, I cannot recommend this product. Before it broke, it looked like a duck resting in my pool. Once it broke, it looked like a duck with vertigo, because it floated face down a while before submersing itself. One thing that happen before the duck became a living illustration of a bidet (took water in it's crack...badum, pshhhh), the green portion of the mallards head began losing its color in flakes. No bueno. If the company was willing to stand behind it's product and send me a replacement, I'd give this a higher rating. I hope they don't "duck" responsibility and respond with "fowl" customer service. After all, I paid my "bill," and the duck foew the coop after 8 months of ownership. ... show more

  • Really cute but....
Style: Blue Butterfly
We give this product 4 stars for a couple of reasons. Really cute, functional, easy to unpack and use and it was delivered on a holiday. The 2 reasons the product does not get a 5 is that it doesn’t have side side slots for the chlorine to get into water like chlorine dispenser it is replacing and secondly The top with the butterfly sits about 3 inches out of the water so you see more of the white sides than you see the colorful butterfly on top. See for yourself in the pictures. ... show more

  • Looks very natural
Style: Mallard
So far our (chlorine dispensing) duck decoy is working well and looks much more natural in our pond setting (see photo) than the former floating blue chlorine dispenser. It easily holds 4-5 of the 3" diameter chlorine disks and the rate the chlorine is released is adjustable. The duck costs probably twice as much as the former blue floaty, so we hope it will last for at least a few years. ... show more

  • Great way to camouflage a chlorine float!
Style: Mallard
Great way to camouflage a chlorine float. This is our third duck - each one has lasted about 3 years. Eventually they have all developed a crack in the tail but with being out in the water & sun for 3 years I would say that’s pretty good. Fits 3-5 chlorine tablets (canister is stepped so it depends on their width as some won’t fit into the bottom level). Great housewarming gift for someone with a new pool. ... show more

  • This dispenser fits five 3" tablets
Style: Blue Butterfly
Wife picked this chlorine dispenser to be unique. It is nice and bright and it looks great in the pool. She picked a winner. However, for whatever dumb reason, the ad here does not say how many 3" tablets you can fit into the canister. Even in the question section you cannot get a straight answer, with 5 being the largest amount given. Our Blue Butterfly can hold 5 tablets. Maybe the discrepancy arises due to the collapsing canister not being fully extended? Or, some tablets are thicker than others? Conundrum. We're enjoying our beautiful, bright and unique chlorine dispenser. You will too. Beats the boring solid blue cap ones. ... show more

  • Really COOL!!!
Style: Alligator
Our new Gator Chlorinator arrived on time and it is REALLY COOL!!! It seems pretty well-made, the head is lightweight and the bottom portion, where the 3" tablets are held is sturdy plastic. The basket with adjustable slots hangs approximately 6-8 inches below the Gator, so only the head can be seen floating. We put only 3 tablets in our Gator, which was what we had in our old, ugly chlorinator, and it sinks perfectly--no need for any rocks to stabilize it. ... show more

  • Duck, Duck, Chlori Duck
Style: Mallard
I have used these ducks for years, at least 7 years that I can recall, maybe more. I even got some female decoy mallards from a sporting goods store to keep them company. What can I say, I'm an old romantic type. I usually bought the Chlori-Ducks at my local pool supply store but they stopped carrying them a few years back and wanted about twice as much to order one. I was excited to see them on Amazon when two recently cracked on the top (the most common ailment reported). They were at least 5 years old. For the price, 5 years is a reasonable life expectancy. I was concerned about some of the reviews on Amazon, especially the old versus new issues, so I ordered only one. The one that I received was identical in structure, quality, build, and functionality as those purchased in past years from the pool supply store. I am not sure what the complaints are about. Mine holds four (4) three-inch tablets, as did the older ones. Now, if you put only one tab in it will float sideways. Put in more than two tabs and when it begins to lean sideways that is the sign that it needs a refill. Regarding the comments about having to drill holes, take the bottom off (unscrew it) to extend it and keep your drill in the tool box. Overall, after reading the comments on Amazon I am very happy to find it is my same old Chlori-Duck as always. I will be ordering the second replacement duck. ... show more

  • Unusable after less than a month
Style: White Duck
Supposedly this item has an adjustable dispensing canister where you can twist it to allow more or less exposure of the tablets to the water. The one I have is frozen in the completely closed position, so it is not getting the chlorine to my pool. It therefore is useless . Besides that, the threads of the canister to the duck are not very precisely matched making it difficult to screw and unscrew. Color on duck beak is already coming off. This was a waste of money. ... show more
