Kit is a good deal for the price, and has decent quality stuff, but has low quality control. Everything arrived good except for the gloves and frame grips. Gloves are size large, not XL, and all interior seams are unfinished & unraveling - canvas is sturdy and leather is ok, but I will have to repair. Frame grips were assembled incorrectly and were unusable - took 5 minutes with a pliers to reverse the spring and they are fixed and assembled correctly. Smoker is decent, ridiculous number of hive tools. Just a lot of little things that when bought separately add up to quite a bit. Having a myriad of tools in my kit will be nice - can't wait to have frame grips and a frame hanger - will really make hive inspections easier. ... show more

I ordered this kit based on everything that is included. Most of the kit seems to be fine although my kit was missing the queen cage. The supplier did refund some of the cost for the missing piece. My biggest problem is the sizing of the gloves. They list them as "XL" but they should be listed as "Small". I usually wear a size "Large" but couldn't even get these on. The fact that they included gloves was a major factor in my decision to buy but unless you wear a small, just figure on having to purchase them elsewhere. ... show more

I'm new to beekeeping so I have nothing to compare this to, but I was very impressed with everything. Still not sure what all I need but this looks like it will get me off to a good start. Would definitely buy from them again. FYI, i've seen reviews in multiple places and can tell the review is not for that particular item.
