i was really unsure if i wanted to take a chance on one of these screens since i’ve seen such mixed reviews, but so far the screen is performing well. i ordered mine last night and got it this morning, it was really easy to set up, the hardest part was hiding the wiring but that’s optional of course. i managed to completely hide the wiring except for where it plugs into the screen and it looks really good. my car already has an infotainment screen so i wasn’t sure if i really needed one of these carplay screens, but it definitely makes a huge difference. i love seeing my upcoming calendar events and accessing my spotify without going on my phone. i’ve also used siri a few times since setting it up and it’s so helpful. the screen has good image quality and is pretty responsive, it actually loads quicker than my original car screen. once i plugged it into my car i just had to bluetooth my phone to the screen and allow carplay, and i didn’t even have to bluetooth the screen to my car or anything, my audio plays just like normal. i still use my steering wheel to control volume and skip songs/etc which was important to me when looking for carplay screens. the startup screen is obnoxious and i’m not sure why there’s no option to change it, but i’m going to follow the review that said how to, should be an easy fix. the startup sound really isn’t that big of a deal, yes it’s not ideal, but this is a budget option so i’m fine with it. overall so far so good! i’ll update if anything goes wrong. ... show more

    • Easy to add CarPlay option
I wanted to add CarPlay functionality to my vehicle that does not have it built in. This looked like an affordable option for doing so. It's fairly easy to setup and connect to Bluetooth, but the instructions could be better. Once connected, it functions pretty well and the sound is fine through aux cable or Bluetooth connection. It works with many applications, however, after you've driven and come back, it doesn't always reopen to the last music app. I typically have to select it again from the menu and sometimes have to unlock my phone to reopen SiriusXM or Audacy. Mine doesn't really play messages. It gives the impression of allowing it, but hitting the play button gives no sound for text to speech. Since there are no directions for that, I'm not sure if there is anything I'm missing. Map functions through Waze work great. It picks up Waze every time it starts up and is easy to control through the interface. Easily my favorite feature of the device. Driving instructions come across clear and easily heard. My biggest complaint about this device is the lack of mounting options on the model I purchased. It has one type of mount included and it is the stick on dash version. The double sided tape works fine if you clean the dash well before applying. The issue I have with it is the nut that holds the mount to the sticky plate comes loose while it is attached to the dash. There is no way to tighten that nut underneath once it is stuck to the dash, without completely removing it and using your backup tape. If you don't, the whole unit starts wobbling around and bouncing off the dash when it gets loose. ... show more

Update: The reps from this company monitor the reviews and reached out within 2 days of the review going live. They unconditionally offered me a refund, which I've graciously accepted. I want to send them the device back, but they asked me to keep it. I'm updating this review to 5 stars only because they are good people and are trying to build their brand. I hope the next iteration of this product solves all these problems. Thank you Podofo. ----------- If you are having problems, return this thing in the returns period or else you'll be stuck with it. This device is amazing - on paper. In the real world, it does everything it's supposed to do, but it does a whole bunch of other infuriating things which make this device useless. Pros: Nice screen. Great when it works. Cons: many cons 1. Constantly disconnects. You have to remove or set all saved wifis and public wifis to not connect automatically otherwise you'll lose connection when you're driving around. Even then, it will disconnect every 30 minutes or 1 hour for unknown reasons. 2. It takes anywhere between 5 seconds or 5 minutes to reconnect, during which time, you don't have any directions. I always have to pull over or somehow unlock my phone, launch maps, type in the address to resume navigation. Total hassle. 3. The device connects with a headset and media profile. Even if you uncheck the boxes for phone call and media in it's Bluetooth properties, it will still connect and take over your phone again and again and again... It is very frustrating when it does this when I'm on a phone call. I almost always have to pull it's cord to turn it off when I take a phone call. The built in speaker and mic are also just terrible. 3. Gps is laggy on the map even when my phone is on the dash. Maps shows my location correctly, but this device sometimes thinks I'm still in the parking lot a mile away. 4. This company's support is a ridiculous waste of time. I think they want to waste your time till your They asked me to factory reset, then they sent me an IMG file to flash on the device... Their device flasher is in Mandarin and keeps throwing errors. They made me try with different SD cards but same error. I tried opening the IMG file with different flashers but none of them can show me what's in it. I purchased this after a long trip with my wife in her new 2024 vehicle. I really liked how easy it was to navigate apple play. When I got home I ordered this unit for my older vehicle. The price was extremely reasonable and setup couldn’t have been easier. The only thing that I have found to be odd is the gps ( I use WAYZ) only plays thru the units speaker and not thru the stereo system. This may be a setting in the app, but not an issue as the speaker on the unit is more than sufficient for gps. All the apps on Apple play work flawlessly. I would highly recommend this unit. You can always send it back. After reading several reviews I think some people might be having connection issues. You need to make sure your phone is connected to your cars stereo via Bluetooth prior to connecting to this unit. ... show more
