Pros: - very breathable (no noticeable temperature difference, and I'm a hot sleeper) - 100% waterproof (cat-tested...) - quiet - fits great (no wrinkles) - quick and easy to get on and off - easy to clean Cons: -It does have a noticeable impact on the "bed feel" for softer mattresses. I've tested several mattress covers, and unfortunately, they have all had an impact on the firmness of the bed. This seems to be unavoidable, as even stretchy materials still create surface tension (they require pressure to stretch). However, there are other protectors out there that are stretchier (requiring less pressure to stretch) and thus have less impact on the feel of the bed. On the flip side, those mattress protectors also felt cheaper in build quality. Overall, this a great product and an instant recommend for beds medium-firm or firmer. For beds softer than that, you will notice that the bed feels firmer, but is excellent in every other regard. I've used a few different mattress protectors over the years. Seriously, you only need one pet or child accident to make you appreciate a waterproof cover!! Sadly, most of the ones that actually work are so clammy and hot to sleep on that you may as well just use a tarp or plastic bag!! Then the products that you can actually sleep comfortably on, are usually not really waterproof at all... 😠 ENTER THIS AMAZING PRODUCT!!! Finally, I think I may have found the holy grail! This product is not only actually waterproof but super comfortable to sleep on. The fabric is soft to the touch and even softer to sleep on. Most importantly, it is actually cooling rather than hot and clammy... I have no idea what kind of magic sorcery they used to create it, I actually don't need to know. I bought this and was super happy when I opened it. It’s so soft, you can tell it’s such good quality.. I wanted to keep it but unfortunately I had not realized that this isn’t a fully enclosed zippered one. Disappointed that I have to return. I guess in my mind I feel if I’m going to pay this much, not only do I want something this great of quality..but I want it to cover my ENTIRE mattress too, not just partially. ... show more

First of, I cannot speak to the water resistance of this mattress protector because I have not had any spills or accidents; I leave that to others. I can tell you that the label and inserts instruct you to wash it with your other linens. When I did this, the linens were left with a waxy residue (-2*) that made sleeping unpleasant; a second washing of the linens seemed to have removed the waxy feeling and all is good, now. The PlushDeluxe protector is plush and soft without being too thick; it has about a quarter- to a half an inch of loft and fits my mattress snugly, no wrinkles. My mattress is a memory-foam mattress so body heat has to make its way through the protector to soften the mattress at the pressure points. I have had no issues with this protector, as I have with some other protectors that insulated too well and left the underlying mattress feeling unduly stiff/firm. This protector seems to let enough body heat through to soften up after a few moments and yet not feel hot, so I'm happy. I will update after a second washing of the protector with linens to see if the waxy feeling returns, or if it was a one-time deal. ... show more

I bought this because an adorable baby animal vomited on my bed by accident, of course. Then he thought that it was the place to barf for all future barfs. What to do? Clean the mattress, of course, then protect the mattress with something waterproof. I had no idea that this would also block the smell of previous biological activity so that my pet would no longer associate my bed with gastrointestinal upheaval! Yahoo! Problem solved! ... show more

Like most reviewers stated it does not make any noise, but I have found it to be a little warm as the temperature rises. It does do a good job of helping keep liquids off of the mattress, which is its job. I just wish it didn’t make my back so hot when I’m trying to sleep

This was a good purchase. This mattress protector is very soft and yet you feel secure it won’t let water penetrate to your mattress. It covers the whole top of the bed with material and has an elastic border that secures it to the top of the mattress. A good buy.
