I had the model one step below the Savi 8200, and I loved it, so when my headset met an untimely demise due to an accidental complete submersion in the kitchen sink, it was a no-brainer to step up to this model. It's a great headset, unless you are on the phone 8+ hours a day. My old headset never ran out of battery, and that was leaving it off the charger during my hour lunch. If I forget to place this one on the charger during my lunch, I run out of power 45 minutes before my 8 hour day is done. If I had it to do over again, I would buy the model I originally had and not this one. The DECT range was better on the cheaper model as well. ... show more

I have had the stereo version of this headset in my environment for a while and have had 0 issues with it. One of my users wanted a monaural version and I thought this would work. The reviews warned of issues but I thought "The stereo one is fine, surely this will work too" and as the headline says, I should have listened to the reviews. I'll admit that the battery was fine but it had several connection issues and I think it is mostly software related. The headset was constantly disconnecting from the base station but got fixed in the poly software with a setting. The biggest complaint was that the microphone would just stop working unless a call was made with our softphone. Not received but made. Nothing else would get it to work unless they called someone and it would only work then. I have since returned it in favor of a wired monaural headset. If that does not matter to you then just do the stereo version. ... show more

I upgraded to this model after having problems with an older model. This one has many of the same problems. If my cell rings and I pick up my headset, it drops the call. Many times while I'm on my cell, activating the headset drops the call. Lots of software issues. But when it works, its great.

NOT impressed, especially for the price. The headset was designed for fat heads and kept falling off my (normal-sized) head. I swear I could BLINK with my head perfectly upright and the darn thing would tumble off. Sorry of velcroing it to my hair, or stapling it to my head, it would NOT stay put! The box shipped without the US plug (just the UK and EU plugs). Then the Poly Hub software refuses to detect the headset (even though as you can see from the photo, my PC recognizes it and I am using it just fine for Webex on my PC... go figure). And finally, I bought this because my Savi 710 broke (after 5 years or excellent service!) and I loved it so much that I bought the 8210. But the range of the 8210 is half of the Savi 720, so I can't go to the kitchen anymore while on headset! That is really the deal-breaker! ... show more
