Mighty Depot for the win!!
Style: Single
Let me start by saying that this is the OLD SCHOOL kind of customer service that some of the young pups out there have never even seen before. These days when you order an item on Amazon (Prime) you think- Meh, it's Prime! I can just ship it back if I don't like it and buy something else. That is exactly what I did. I ordered the Plantronics CS530 from Amazon. There were "buying options" one being from Amazon and three others from various different sellers who's names I did not recognize. I received my CS530 and handlifter... but with a manual, no support and what I can describe as a faulty headset so I sent that thing packing back to the Amazon jungle. I voiced my complaints to a co-worker who had just ordered the same headset. He had shopped around and found the same headset, but decided to order a "used" one slightly cheaper direct from the seller.... Mighty Depot! I reluctantly re-ordered the same headset via Amazon, but this time ordered it from the unknown (to me) seller "Mighty Depot". I received it on schedule plugged it in and got the new headset working almost right away. The crazy thing is...a few days later I got an email from Bill at the Mighty Depot. He wanted to check to make sure my sound quality was good and that I was happy with the product. I responded to the email that while I was ok with the sound quality I wasn't happy with the life of the battery. It was dead within an hour of sitting on my ear. As soon as I hit sent I received a phone call from an unknown number. And there was Bill, ready to jump in and help. He did some trouble shooting and ultimately determined that my headset which does not have a replaceable battery was faulty and not holding the appropriate charge. Bill put a new headset in the mail the SAME day! I asked that I ship the old one back with the pre-paid shipping label he sent me. Great! But I didn't send it back.. . I kept it a few more days and limped it along until my new one arrived. The new headset was just as good as the last, fit well, settings were ok... but back to the battery life. I'm not sure if my expectations are too high, but I started getting low battery beeps inside of -3 hours. My old headset (Plantronics Savi VOIP model) would last 2 days!! So when this little puppy needed recharging after a few hours of just sitting on my head (without even talking) I was a little bummed. Of course I get another phone call from Bill checking in again to see how the new headset is working out. Mind you I didn't call him and he already has gone above and beyond sending me 2 headsets, tech support etc. I'd say since there is nothing technically wrong with the headset I purchased he had already fulfilled his contract agreement by providing me exactly what I ordered. But no.... Bill left me 2 messages and an email because he wanted to make sure I was happy. a few days later I sent Bill another email because I'm thinking... man this guy is losing sleep not knowing what I thinking of this thing. I thanked him again for the new headset... works great. But... not really what I was hoping for. Boom! Bill heard my issue. Understood my needs and without me even asking tells me that he has another model (with replaceable) battery that he thinks would work better for my situation and would go ahead and send it out to me right away. (I haven't even sent the CS530 back yet) Wait...Whaaaat??? I received the new headset over the weekend and while I haven't had the chance to really put it to the test it seems to work GREAT!! plugged it in and calls came in...worked great with my Cisco phone system and even connects to my cell phone via Bluetooth!! Battery life TBD. But I'm comfortable leaving this feedback because I'm leaving the feedback for Bill and the Mighty Depot!! The headset was just a bonus (speaking of bonuses... Bill even sent me an Extra battery and a earpiece kit...Seriously.) If you are like me and just want your stuff to work. Order from Mighty Depot. These people will not sleep until they get it right. Gone are the days of department store shopping when you can talk to a trained sales person who can tell you everything you need to know about an item before you make a decision. But this company is bringing that whole customer service thing back to the forefront. Well done Mighty Depot! ...and the headset is pretty cool too! (Plantronics Savi 710) ... show more

Best earpiece I've ever owned
Style: Single
I'm on the phone 8 hours a day providing tech support. I've been wearing out headsets since the 90's. I've had this connected to my Shortel desk phone for the past 2 years and have never had a single problem with it once. I was wary of Plantronics going into this - but i have no regrets. pros -Quality is super. I guess the little foam covers fall off but I prefer it without those anyways. The earpiece is one solid piece and super flexible. The mouthpiece doesnt bend but it yaws in and out and there's no need for anything more. -Sound is loud and clear. I can hear everything. -Comfort is the best i've ever had. I'll wear it all day and never think about it once. It's basically weghtless and not intrusive at all. Sometimes I forget to take it off until I'm 10 minutes into lunch. It stays exactly where it needs to be and I never need to adjust anything after i drop it on my ear. -Never had anyone say they had any problems hearing anything I've said -The only time I've run out of battery is when use it a full day then leave it off the charger afterwards. You can talk for 8-9 hours and not worry about charge especially if you dock it at lunch. -connect/disconnect button on the earpiece is easy to find and press. It's just a quick tap and you only need one finger. con -the volume buttons are hard to find and pressing them requires some leverage when it's worn but I only just leave it near the top then adjust the volume from my desk phone. I've never had to adjust volume directly on the earpiece. If you need a headset for work and you need to wear this all day - this is the one to get. A bit pricey but a great investment. ... show more

Good headset, but handling of call waiting a little quirky
Style: Single
Now that I've used it for a few months, I can say that sound quality is overall pretty good both ways, and so is range and battery life. That said, before you buy this headset, you should understand how it handles call waiting (that, as well as most other details, are not explained in product description on Amazon or the scant printed instructions that come with the product). I'm using this headset with a phone that has a 'flash' button, which must be pressed in order to switch to an incoming call while I'm on another call. Instead of purchasing the optional lifter for the receiver, I bought the TR-11 electronic hook switch adapter (I don't think that the former would make any difference as far as call waiting, but I may be wrong - again, directions are silent on this point). At any rate, when using the headset, I don't get the call-waiting beep that I would normally get when I use the phone's receiver. The workaround that I finally found is using an app on my cell phone (from my VOIP's provider) that will announce the incoming call on my cell. Still, answering that call isn't simple b/c I have to press the line button on my phone, then push the button on the side of the headset to disconnect it (otherwise the first caller would hear my exchange with the second caller), finally press the flash button on my phone. Returning to the first caller requires these steps to be reversed, so overall much more complicated than it used to be when I was simply using the phone's receiver and the caller ID of the incoming call flashed on my desk phone's diplay. That said, my neck no longer hurts from cradling the receiver on long calls, so overall I'm OK with the trade-off. ... show more

Replacement for CS70
Style: Single
I purchased this headset to replace my old Plantronics CS70 headset which has been my workhorse for the past 8 years. The battery finally died on the headset and it was put to rest with all suitable reverence. I used the lifter that I bought with my old unit and it works just as well with the new one so if you are replacing the old CS70 and you already have the lifter there is no need to purchase a new one. The fit of this unit is exactly the same as the old one and to me is extremely comfortable so I happen to like the fit. I also think the unit is quite handsome. The old CS70 was beginning to look a little dated but this system has a really nice modern design which I also like. Fit and aesthetics aside, the real meat and potatoes is whether it works the way its supposed to. You can have the best fitting, eye catching piece of equipment in the world but if it doesn't work, it's worthless. First let me say I use this in my office at work and after little trial and error I got it work, the connectors are different than my old model but to say it was a problem to set up would be an overstatement. There is also a 1800 number you can call, which I did, to set up the volumes, this was a breeze. I don't stray too far from my desk, maybe 30 feet max and the sound quality was just as good as if I was right next to base station. I get no feedback or screeching as others have reported, and maybe due to their phone systems. My voice is transmitted crystal clear as are the voices with those I speak. It's safe to say I'm a fan of Plantronics, I also use their Bluetooth headset for my cellphone and I've been fortunate that I have never experienced any problems with either product. I'm very satisfied with this product and I'm looking forward to many years of great performance from it. ... show more

Wow Great Headset!
Style: Single
I debated for a long time in getting this headset. I finally purchased it and it's awesome! - The sound quality is great. - It's comfortable to wear and has multiple sizes of in-ear foam or sculpted gel earpieces. - The size of the unit that fits around the back of your ear is a bit larger than I expected, as compared to similar types of ear pieces I use with my cellular phone. But, I contribute that to the battery. - It's super easy to switch from handset to headset with the button on the side of the earpiece. - A great feature is that the headset automatically disconnects itself from the phone when you place it back into the cradle. This is great so you don't forget to toggle it back to the headset when you are done with a call. In my case, I might pickup the handset for a quick internal answer. - There are indicator lights on the front of the charging cradle for power, charging/charged, and if the headset is engaged/active. Great to have these on the cradle where you can see them, instead of being on the earpiece itself. Overall, I highly recommend this unit! ... show more

Ringing in my ears after use!
Style: Single
I bought this unit a few months ago and have no complaints about the wide range of use and volume. I'd give it 4 stars, except that I have found out two things about the unit that you should know before buying (and this may only be my own headset doing this): 1) the first few seconds of every call I make, the dialogue after the other party picks up the phone, echo pretty badly. Neither of us can really hear the other clearly, but then after a few seconds the echo goes away and we can talk. After that, the battery lasts long enough for daily use, the sound is clear, no problems with the unit at all. 2) I have discovered only weeks ago a disturbing ringing in my ear after using the headset, even for a single call. The ringing sometimes lasts for two days. I troubleshooted this... the earbud doesn't touch my eardrum, the volume is not up loudly at all and I can find no reason for why this happens. The ringing eventually goes away, but only after a day or so of non-use. No headphones I own or earbuds for music play do this. I can only suggest that the transmit/receive signal of the piece itself is the issue. ... show more

Overall definitely worth buying again.
Style: Single
I work in the courthouse and needed something to help me walk around with out being corded. Also hated how nasty the cords look. This really works wonderful. When I first started I heard myself extremely bad but that leveled out after about 30 seconds into the call. I occasionally hear myself but it is not loud and doesnt bother me or the other over the phone. you can hear wind from a fan so be aware of that. I have been wearing a mask so I am not sure about breathe at this time. Overall I love the product. Came with several different ear things to choose from which was great. Charge holds wonderful. I charge it on lunch and overnight. ... show more

Enjoyed this headset while it worked but <2 yrs later it is now broken
Style: Single
**Update April 2019: I enjoyed this headset while it worked, but now the earpiece that fits into my ear is fully broken (the entire plastic casing). With a lot of use, the fit became loose and it would fall off my ear if I moved my head too much during a call. Some of the calls weren't clear towards the end which makes sense now that I see that the physical connection is fully broken (so the parts must have been disconnecting for awhile and then finally gave). I like the Plantronics brand so will try to find another wireless over-the-ear headset for a landline phone. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I returned the Plantronics-CS540 Convertible Wireless Headset because the earpiece did not fit my ear despite multiple attempts to adjust it. I purchased this as the replacement product and love it! The earpiece is very comfortable and more importantly, fits my ear securely. I am on calls nearly all day and I just make sure I return the ear piece to the charger between calls. The battery has lasted all day (8+ hours) with short breaks between calls (when it is recharged). My previous Plantronics wireless headset was 12+ years old and hopefully this one will last just as long. ... show more
