I bought this to replace a different timed grow light, which gave out not even a year after I bought it. This one is very nice so far. I appreciate that there are removable sections to add to or subtract from the height. When it turns on or off, it does so softly, and has a nice dimming feature if you need it. The timer works well, and doubles as a "you've stayed up too late again" alarm for me, since I have it set to turn on at midnight. The only reason I took off a star was that I really wish there was a way to route the cord down through the pipe and the base, so that I didn't have to wrap it around the lamp all the way to the base. ... show more

Note that there is not one photo that shows the cord on this. It does not run inside the support pole. It hangs outside of it and looks sloppy. Sellers shouldn't be allowed to misrepresent their product in photos.

I somehow missed the 63" part. It's very tall, but I was able to reduce it somewhat, figure to about 40". I wish it could go lower but I can't figure out how do that (if I even can). The light seems good, its definitely very bright, and the controls are just as advertised

Ha! Get it? my inch plant cuttings were not getting enough light...this was the solution. The light is very bright (usual brightness settings and timer, etc) with an adjustable neck that goes right to where I needed it. AC power only (no USB option with this one) but glad to report that the adapter didn't register any type of heat after being plugged in a few hours. ... show more
