  • Excellent product
Material Type: 0.9oz/yd² Size: 10'x30'-rectangle
I have previously purchased this row cover and use it for a shade cloth in combination with 1/2" pvc pipe supports over my veggie gardens. It especially helps to keep a good bit of the high temperatures from stressing out the plants. With the intense heat we've been having this row cover has made a huge and positive difference in crop yield. I sometimes use a double layer over the veggie plants. The fabric of this brand holds up very well under adverse weather conditions. I love this stuff and always keep a new package of it on hand; I don't want to be without it. ... show more

  • Size matters
Material Type: 0.9oz/yd² Size: 10'x30'-rectangle
This is supposed to be 10" by 30'. Mine is 9' 6" by 27". I had to redo my supports because of the smaller size. It rips pretty easily. I hope that it is able to protect my crop from the coming cold weather. It is pretty light. I do not recommend trying to drape it over your crop by yourself if even a slight breeze is blowing. It can be pretty frustrating. I secured one end then using clips attached to a 10' piece of PVC. I was able to lift the fabric up the drape it over my frame. I started fastening it to my frame starting from the secured end. If the fabric gets snagged on something DO NOT try pulling it free. You will have to go to the place it is snagged then free it manually. The more clips you install the less it will flap in the breeze. ... show more

  • Great Frost/Snow Protection!!
Material Type: 1.5oz/yd² Size: 10'x50'-rectangle
Overall an excellent product! The material is breathable enough to let airflow and sunlight through. It protected my plants during the rare snow storm in Southeast Texas. I purchased hoops to keep the blanket off my plants to keep the foliage safe from any freeze damage. This isn’t going to protect your foliage unless you keep the fabric off the plant. But it will protect the root system even if used without hoops. If you leave the cloth with snow on it resting on your plant’s foliage, it’s like leaving an ice pack on the foliage for hours/days; you will get foliage damage. Purchase hoops to prevent that from happening next time. I hope this helps! ... show more

  • Effective covers for plants to avoid freezing
Material Type: 0.9oz/yd² Size: 10'x30'-rectangle
Had a freeze in the Houston TX area last year as usual. Applied these over two flower beds and all the plants did well. Much better than using old sheets.

  • Do not store them outside even with some protection from the sun
Pro: They were adequate to protect my already blooming trees from frost damage. Con: I stored them under the steps to my front porch where they were mostly protected from UV damage. The time line here is from late winter/early spring 2024 until maybe a couple of six weeks-ish ago (roughly). I should have been playing a Kansas album for theme music because they literally became dust in the wind to the slightest touch: completely disintegrated. They may be fine if you store them inside as soon as you don't need them. I wouldn't know and am unlikely to take another chance on this brand for the upcoming winter season to find out. I feel that three stars is probably generous, but I don't believe and one-star passive-aggressive reviews when four or five stars is not warranted. I'll leave that to the Karens. In my opinion, one-star review should be reserved for crap products coupled with customer service that basically tell you to go F yourself but I digress. To be clear, I have not contacted the seller. Maybe I will; maybe I won't. Bottom line: I am disappointed in this product. ... show more

  • Used for light frost in SF Bay Area
Material Type: 0.9oz/yd² Size: 10'x30'-rectangle
This worked well for the frost we just experienced in parts of the SF Bay Area last week. Temps were going below 32 degrees in the early morning hours where we live and there was ice on car window. So, I cut up sections of this cloth and put over succulents and some young citrus. I like how light weight the fabric is - and how it lets in light (although I took it off during the day). It was interesting to see how it worked: In the morning, my large potted succulent bowl out in the open (not under a tree or near a house) had a lot of moisture on top the frost cover - and was freezing cold to the touch. But the plants under the cloth were dry. So, the cover was necessary to protect it. The cloth that was covering plants under a tree felt dry and was not very cold to the touch. (I once heard that frost "drops down," so I'm assuming a tree can offer some protection from a frost that is fed by moisture.) This is just two day's of observation but I thought I'd share it anyway. Bottom line: I slept better at night knowing my plants were protected by this cloth regardless of where they were in the yard. ... show more
