We recently built an island and these are exactly what I was looking for. They are the perfect height for a regular height counter (ours is almost 36" high). They are great for kids to get up and down on but also are good enough size for adults. I like that these can go under the overhang completely when not in use to free up walk way space. I bought some reflective textured tape to put on the foot rests for more traction and so you can see them better in the dark (glows in dark) because I knew with my kids shoes they would get scratched up, or with socks they could slip off. I did also use the felt pads that came with the chairs on the bottom of the feet and it makes it easier to slide them around. My set DID come with the wood plugs that cover the screw holes. I know older versions didn't and this was a concern for me when I purchased, but they ended up having it in the box. We did have an issue with two of the screws on the foot rest, one stripped the hole and the other actually broke off in the hole. We were in contact with the company (I think they are in china so allow time difference for replies) and they were very attentive and were going to send replacement parts. They actually sent me all new stools because they didnt have any extra parts. So now I have an extra stool for our workshop that my husband is going to try to fix with other screws, etc. So far they are very sturdy and haven't scratched. I have noticed they show dirt and smudges a lot, but I have two little boys (2 and 4) and they always have grimy hands. They wipe off easily with water or pledge multi surface. Over all the value for these stools is A+. My husband and I teeter around 200lbs and they hold us just fine. Other similar stools have a slightly wider base which wouldn't have worked for us with our counter top legs, and also a lower weight capacity. We were thinking of the amazon basics brand, but I am so glad we chose these instead. Would purchase again, hands down! customer service A+++++ too!!

I love these stools, but I made the horrible mistake of only ordering 2 of them to see how they look in my space, and when I went back to order another 2, THEY ARE NOW UNAVAILABLE. It was a little tricky to get the screws in the crossbars to go in all the way because I'm not super strong and couldn't get a good angle with my powered drill (there's NO way you could get the screws in without a drill), but my husband was able to do that last step for me. Make sure you get everything fastened tightly and properly before putting in the wooden plugs that cover the screw holes, because they are impossible to remove once hammered in. I've tried ordering similar stools to match the 2 that I have (one is pictured in the photo with this review, but it doesn't actually match well), but the wood just isn't the same and isn't as light and beautiful with the natural grain.
