Description

A color inkjet all-in-one printer from Canon, with scan and copy functions, WiFi networking, and wireless printing with Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print. Works with Windows and macOS. Detailed Test Results PRINTING. The Canon PIXMA TS8222 prints using inkjet technology, which sprays liquid ink onto the paper from a moving head. Its text printing is Good, though not as good as most inkjets. Text printing was very quick, 12.5 pages per minute, costing 7.3 cents per page. Its color graphics printing is Very Good for reports, newsletters and web pages, at 3.5 pages per minute, costing 13.2 cents per page. It prints photos on glossy paper that are fine for casual users, but not as good as most inkjet printers. It has auto-duplex printing to print both on sides of the page, with no loss of quality. If the black ink runs out, it stops printing—it can’t be set to just use the remaining color ink. The capacity of the main paper tray is 100 sheets, a typical size. There’s a second input tray that can hold another 100 sheets. SCANNING and COPYING. Scanning performance was Excellent, suitable for any task including archiving photos. It can scan or copy an area up to 11.7 x 8.5 inches (letter size). Copying performance was Very Good, suitable for most purposes. Includes OCR (optical character recognition) software, useful for making scanned documents editable in a word processor program. CONTROLS and DISPLAY. The printer has a large, 4.3-inch display screen with a touchscreen that can preview each photo in a 3.1-inch window. CONNECTIVITY and NETWORKING. The Canon PIXMA TS8222 has a memory-card reader for directly printing documents and images stored on an SD card. It has Wireless PictBridge for direct printing from portable devices that have this feature. You can connect directly to a PC with a USB cable, or to your network router wirelessly with WiFi. There’s a WiFi Auto-connect feature that makes it easy to link to your wireless router. Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud

  • Excellent Printer
Excellent printer and a first class seller.

  • Replacement for my 14 year old PiXMA MG7120
I dearly loved my PiXMA MG7120 but when it finally gave out after many years of faithful service, I looked for the most similar model I could find, and that was the PiXMA TS8322. I wanted a front paper tray, as well as high resolution, the ability to scan AND copy, and the ability to use generic ink - all features of this printer. It's not perfect, though... Even though the resolution is stated as being the same as the MG7120, the print is not quite as good. Printed characters are slightly fainter than on my old printer (even on the best quality print setting with the intensity increased), and I have been unable so far to make it print darker. I am a stickler for resolution, though, and most people might not notice - or care - about the slight difference. Also, if I fill the paper tray to capacity with paper, the printer spits out multiple pages every time it prints, necessitating removing much of the paper from the tray, which fixes the problem - but it means adding paper much more often than I normally would. Still, I'm happy to have this TS8322 printer which was MUCH less expensive than a new-old-stock MG7120! ... show more

  • It works
The CD/ID card printing is not as intuitive as I would expect but it does work once you figure it out.

  • Coming from a Pixma MX922, this thing is a dream.
I don't like the aspect of printers that require you to get a new one every x amount of time but given my old printer was 7 years old and the print head started struggling, it was time. I got this one specifically because it can print to CD's. My use case is ID cards. This printer printed perfectly the first time to my inkject PVC cards. My old printer has an alignment issue on the different blacks so anything that was black looked smudged. No such issue with this printer. ... show more

  • Nice printer but now over priced
This printer prints great photos and no issue with printer jams. I feed paper from the bottom tray and also from the rear tray which gives 200 sheet capacity. I have to remove the rear paper when printing a photo. WIFI at times can be an issue as it will not connect but that is rare. It is slow to wake when printing. I have found that if you use a USB connection then there is very little lag when the print command is made. I like that you can use after market ink which works great and you can save a money. The output tray will move out from closed position automatically when printing but you have to manually close it if needed. The price of this printer has increased from <$200 to > $300 2-27-26 update. Went to use the USB connection and the port is dead. I wanted to see if that would speed up the printer waking up vs WIFI connection. The port is recessed in deep so connection is difficult but verified it did not work after trying two different cables. I will reduce the rating one star. ... show more

This printer is amazing... the quality of the whatever (i.e. pictures, stickers, etc) you decide to print will be the of quality. Canon's customer/tech support are phenomenal; I've called them several times and the customer service has always been excellent. I honestly can't find anything to complain nor gripe about with this product. I would highly recommend this printer. ... show more

  • Nice product
Easy to set up, nice print quality, the only complaint is that the scan function sends to document files with no way to designate to a specific folder, by all in all a nice machine for the price.

  • Nice printer. Good price
This replaced me aging MG6120. Not as sturdily made, IMO. But, it has much better connection options for newer devices that support Apple AirPrint. Also, thought the price was fair.
