  • Harbor Freight jack with price marked up
It works great after several uses on my small, low-to-the-ground car and a heavy SUV. So far I haven't had any problems with leaking or loosing height in use. The only negative I have to report is that this is a Harbor Freight item and is simply being resold here for a hefty markup. I'm finding this to be a common occurrence here, because when you remove the product from the store brand stigma, you can market it as a superior product and make a wad of cash in the confusion. Before buying a bunch of tools with the convenience of online shopping, do yourself a favor and visit HF and other low-end stores. You'd be surprised at how many of the great deals here are actually just items from your local low-end retailer, bought at retail prices and sold to you at a marked-up price. That is, if they're not actually returns, scratch&dents, and factory seconds. All of which I've experienced. ... show more

  • design & Quality might be questionable...
1. When I received and first opened the box, one of the cover plate screws had already fallen off. The cover plate is much smaller than the space (opening for draining/refill) it was designed to cover, and the screws used are not precision machine screws but the ordinary wood screws. You can easily see that the plate is tilting, or dangling, in that space. 2. Scary 1st pumping attempt. After having removed the plastic retaining clip from the handle socket body, attached the handle, I started pumping the jack up. Right at the "1st" pump, the spring made a loud snapping sound that startled me. After I made sure nothing jumped out and hurt me, I pumped it up fully to inspect it. I concluded that there were two possible causes for the loud noise, 1) the design makes the springs really close to, even touching, the hydraulic cylinder body. The spring could have been caught by the cap of hydraulic unit, and the tension from pumping causes the springs to snap off. or, 2) the spring hooks weren't installed properly in place, and the pumping tension caused it to snap into place. Lucky for me, the spring didn't snap out of place and jump out. I now put lots of grease in the tiny gaps between the springs and the hydraulic cylinder to avoid friction or snapping. That seems to have avoided quite a few issues. ... show more

  • Absolutely Ridiculous!!
Far by one of the worst Jacks I’ve ever had in my life. Coming from Pittsburgh automotive... I was expecting a lot better quality, but NOPE... after three days of using it, a seal broke off right in the process of raising it underneath the car, thank god it wasn’t when it was under heavy tension. Hydraulic oil squirted everywhere and a puddle started to form soon afterward. I was on a strict deadline to finish the work on my car, unfortunately those deadlines have to be postponed until a better jack comes along. SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME, THE HASSLE, AND YOUR MONEY, DON’T BUY IT. ... show more

I've bought lots on Pittsburg tools, love them. But used it once and sat it aside for four days and lost a lot of hydraulic fluid on the floor

  • Better to buy large sometimes.
This is a VERY nice, sturdy and trustworthy piece of equipment! l lifted my truck with ease! the double pump system made the process easier than I thought it would be. Has low profile but lifts very high, so I was able to place jack stands without any problem. It is heavy - close to 100 pounds- but it rolls nicely on concrete. if you are thinking about buying a smaller jack, maybe you shouldn't! This is strong enough to do everything you need on a personal vehicle and its better to have a jack that can do more without risk of failure. I feel this is a safe jack to use and i am quite happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Nice Quality, Slim Yet Powerful, Held My SUV Great
Not my first floor jack. This jack is very nice in quality. It had the power to lift my 2017 Honda CR-V (SUV) with no issues. It was a breeze to lift up the vehicle as well as slowly lower. Everything held in place without a budge or drop in hieght. What was more nice was the fact that I could slide the jack under my Husky Tool benches due to the slim profile making it a piece of cake to store.. It was also very easy to maneuver around the garage. Great buy! ... show more

  • Rubber fill plug will fail
Manufacturer switched fill plug from a screw to a rubber plug. Once you remove it like the instructions require you to top the jack oil it is very difficult to put it back. The rubber plug failed in mine it popped a broke before I had a chance to even use it, unless they go back to the screw plug I would definitely stay away from this product. ... show more

  • Low profile fits under my car.
I do all my own car maintenance and needed the low profile to get under the front of my BMW (always been a problem with other jacks). It is a Harbor Freight item (model 61282) and while it was a little more expensive than buying from the local store, it's so heavy (74 lbs) that it was worth having it delivered to my door. Works right out of the box unlike some others who had to bleed theirs first. Now I'm just waiting on the jack stands I ordered to do some work on my car. You should never get under your car with just one jack holding it up. ANY floor jack can lose pressure and start lowering before you can crawl back out, which can ruin your day, if you live to tell about it. At the very least, place something solid under your tires that can take the weight, blocks of wood, brick, whatever, before you crawl under. I'll update this review if there are any problems later on. ... show more
