I love buying gear that people typically don't have. I usually look on japan, korea, and thailand tackle websites for stuff and for some reason the Kastking name was popping up on their websites. Decided to pick up a 300 size baitcast reel with a power handle for slow pitch jigging. Of course I had to modify it to my liking (new longer handle and new power knob). So far I've only taken it out once but this thing is awesome. We dropped down to 900-1200ft depths for rockfish. This reel holds plenty of line (if you buy the right kind), and the drag was smooth. 6.6 gear ratio is perfect for working the lures correctly while also reeling in the fish at a steady speed. FYI, the "right kind" of line that i used was the daiwa saltiga SJ in pe 1.5 (26#). you wont easily find a thinner line with a good price. I was in Japan for work recently and their equivalent sized line is 3-4x the price.

Ok, I’ve had this reel for 2 years now and use it exclusively fishing in saltwater in the backwaters of the Florida Everglades. Caught numerous speckled trout and it performed beautifully. Casting is wonderful with no backlashes. Have it spooled with 30 pound braid and a 20 pound mono top shot. It is paired with an Ugly Stik Tiger Lite pistol grip rod, med heavy action. Last week was seeing barracuda in the area and put on a wire leader. Hooked up on a 6 ft lemon shark. The 33 pounds of drag worked flawless and was able to stop and slowly bring the fish to the boat. Totally impressed with this reel.

Just got back from a 9 day musky trip on Lake of The Woods. 8.1 gear ratio with power handle worked very well casting every musky lure in the box-including lighter buck-tails. The reel handles #8 double blades very well, #9 blades are fine but struggles with #10 double blades (as most reels do) and is fast enough to gather the slack line jerking big rubber. This reel allows you to cast as far as needed and I only bumped the handle once while casting (this is common tho with power handles on most reels). The drag is smooth but has a bit of trouble backing down once the fish is on and you need to let it run after an adjustment-in all honesty I had it set too hard to begin with. I did notice a little noise and the release button seems to have a bit of movement but nothing that affected performance. A clicker would be nice for dual purpose when the sucker season comes. Very happy with the price and performance, would give it 4.5 stars on performance if the half star was available-no issues fitting your had. I let two other veteran musky guys cast it and they were surprised by the reel's performance, especially for the price.

Bought two last year to use on a fishing trip. Caught Muskie, Pike and Bowfin using it to throw bucktail spinners. I liked it so much for heavier rods and bigger bait that I bought 2 more. Casts great and is smooth. Can’t beat it for the price, it’s more than half the price of Shimano, Daiwa or Okuma. If you’re thinking about it, just do it.

I have owned the Alijoz size 300 reel for about 8 months now to replace my Lew's speed spool after the brake gave out on it. This reel is 100 times better. I use the reel both for freshwater and saltwater, but I bought it mostly for freshwater use. The 33 lbs. of drag is amazing as I fish off of jetties and a lot of heavy cover and I can rip fish out of snags quickly without losing gear. The additional button to lock the spool is awesome and it is quite difficult using other reels now as I have grown accustomed to it. I have used this reel for shark, rockfish, halibut, bass, catfish, pike, etc. And have not been disappointed. I will say that I chose the single handle feature and when fishing freshwater it can be more difficult to reel but as I have said before this is primarily a saltwater reel so I don't find it to be a big issue. Great job done by Piscifun in making an afforable real that is still competitive with other top notch baitcasting reels.

My first baitcaster reel and in 3 times practicing in the street, I went peacock bass fishing in 3 different rivers along the border of Colombia with Venezuela. Only 1 very minor backlash the whole week of fishing. Great reel! No problem with a 22lb peacock bass, great drag system. Caught many fish during the week in addition to hard hitting peacock bass including payara (the vampire fish), piranha and yamu. The Alijoz 300 performed spot on everyday. Used daily to cast lures from 1/2oz to 2-1/2oz and trolled 1-1/2oz and 2-1/2oz lures several times during the week of fishing. Great value for the price in my opinion.

I have had this reel for a couple years. It has done well. I always rinse it with fresh water after fishing. Caught plenty of fluke, black sea bass, and the occasional dogfish. My only complaint is that they don't sell replacement parts. So if you are OK with that then the reel is good. It would be nice to be able to repair them like mainstream branded reels.
