The Van Staal VR series spinning reel, a lighter-weight sibling of the renowned VSX, is fully sealed and robust. Each reel includes a manual bail and a bail-less conversion kit. The latest model boasts a thicker stainless steel main shaft, reducing flex under load, improved waterproof sealing, and a larger drag knob for easier adjustment, even with gloves on. Additionally, left-handed models are now available, indicated by the '1' in their model number (VR51, VR151, VR201).

The line lay out of the box is hideous. The reel needed to be sent out to Van Staal to get the spool height fixed. You would think after paying well over 500 bucks this would be perfect out of the box. Item is being returned. I won't buy Van Staal again.
