This is a wonderful salt water reel! I wade fish and while I do my best not to dunk it, I’m short so salt happens sometimes. I rinse it after use and take care of it, but my previous one lasted years and still works so it will now be a backup reel to this one.

Great reel out of the box and it feels great, but after only two trips it isn’t reeling smooth at all now. There is a grinding going on. I have cleaned it and inspected it, but I can’t find the issue. I’ll stick with Lew’s moving forward.

First impression out of the box was good but went down hill quick. Reel was smooth at first but within 15 minutes of me just spinning it at the kitchen table it began to bind. Didn’t appear to have been used previously. Very disappointing. Returning it.

I don't know if others have the same issue but when i lock my reel seat down really tight i think the base/plastic beens and rubs against the spool because i feel alot of friction when cranking the handle....
