    • Perfect for upgrading subwoofer in 2024 Mustang B & O system

This is a very easy upgrade for your 2024+ Mustang with the B&O Subwoofer. Only took about an hour or so. There are youtube videos all over on how to do it. Basically, remove the sub box by taking the 3 bolts out, very easy, unplug rear wire. You have to pop off the trim ring, which has 6 clips on it that can break easily. i broke 3 of mine but it still went back on with no issues. Remove speaker. You will need to use a dremel to remove the plastic lip at the top. Take tin snips and cut a notch on new sub at each bolt hole that way you can reuse the factory screws. You can buy the wire adapters here on amazon so no cutting of factory wires, about $10, they say for jeep but they work. I got about 8 oz of polyfill on amazon and put in the sub box. Put the rubber gasket around the opening that comes with the sub to seal it. put it all back together. Sounds so much better instantly. Im sure adding an amp and bigger sub give more boom but this is fine to keep it factory looking and a better sound from the system. If you dont have all the tools needed you can buy them all on amazon, which is what i did and it made it easier-Dremel, tin snips, wire adapters, polyfill. Mustang 6g and mustang 7g have links to install and youtube has more up to date videos that make it pretty easy. Replaced the OEM sub in my 2021 mustang GT premium with BO stereo. You can see the difference in magnet size from the stock speaker. Simple install and great sound. I cut the OEM connectors off and stripped the wire. There is just enough length to reach the speaker terminals if you cut right at the OEM harness plug. ... show more

This sub is nearly a drop in replacement for the B&O sub in the Mustang. It does require a tiny bit of modification to get the holes to line up but after that it drops right in and the factory grill fits over it. It does sound noticeably better than the factory sub but it is only worth it if the sub is cheap (it was when I bought it). If you don't want to cut wires, get the Red Wolf Connectors B089Q9K9Z6. They plug right in to the factory sub harness so you can connect to the Pioneer sub. Update: I finally got motivated and added a Rockford Fosgate Prime R2 500X1 amp that I had on the shelf to my setup. I set the gain with a multimeter to keep the output around 400W. This sub really woke up in the stock enclosure with the extra power. It'll work with the stock power but you will love it with a more powerful amp. ... show more

Mustang with B&O sound gang!!! Super easy mod described over at mustang6g forums. Pop the crappy paper sub from the B&O sound, and after some minor modifications made super easy if you have a dremel tool around you will be blasting some nice punchy bass at the higher volumes. I don't notice any difference in the early 10s volume but once you get to about 15+ all the way to 22 this thing shines. That is with my kind of music. Your experience may vary. Those who have the B&O sound system in the Ford Mustang are unfortunately exposed to a miserable subwoofer. The Pioneer fits into the OEM subwoofer housing. Connections and impedance also match. Relatively easy to swap. And a difference like night and day. I can only recommend it.
