Just installed this 2 zone unit. I called to get the extended line set at 25' vs the standard 16' Followed the directions step by step and used Nylog sealant. No issues during install and everything came out perfect. Both units are functioning awesome. QUIET AND COLD or QUIET AND HOT. Left this photo as an idea for anyone not wanting a metal stand or pad. I just got the "L" brackets and mounted them to some 4x4 posts. Make sure you dig down at least 2ft and backfill with some rock on bottom and concrete. Then make a support joist between the two posts for extra measure. This way you can build a nice dog house around it for winter months and run it in even colder temps. UPDATE: The temperature outside is 4F or 28 below freezing! It is still pumping out heat strong. This performs awesome and is well worth the money spent. My electric bill hasn't increased enough for me to even notice. Super Efficient!

Had a coworker rave about his mini split system that was one of the more popular names in the business. He spent around 30% more for his 3 zone system. I didn't have that amount of money considering cost of installation as well. So I went with the Pioneer 3 zone system after some research. I divided the 3 units by getting an 18k btu for my living room, 12k btu for my bedroom and the 9k btu for my office. They all work great, the 9k is obviously the weakest of them all. However I don't notice a huge difference between the 12 and 18k though... pretty quiet, there's a TURBO button on the remotes that gets the fan to blow harder and lowder, nice feature if you're coming home to a hot house and want a quicker cool off time. There's also a button to control if you want the LED light on or off on the wall units. The outdoor unit (condenser) is also much quieter than I anticipated. All in all I'm very satisfied.

This system is really nicely put together and a phenomenon deal at basically 35% off what Mitsubishis and Fujitsu's sell for. I had the system professionally installed by a well-seasoned HVAC technician and he was very impressed with everything- especially the price. The technician installed all 3 head units, compressor, ran 220V for $1600 in an easy day and a half, he probably could of had it done in a good full day. I was of course skeptical about the quality, but he reassured me it seems reasonably well-made, it's not commercial quality, but about as good as many highly regarded brands and better than Carrier- which he said he'd never install in his own home. I couldn't help myself though and paid for a 5-yr Squaretrade warranty for another $350- maybe for peace of mind. I'm also going to check with my local electric company, I might qualify for a $500 rebate' The unit was received by freight in 7 days, I was able to pack it into my Minivan, as they only have curbside delivery and I have a 500ft long driveway very unapproachable by a tractor trailer. Be aware that it delivers with x3 line sets, each 16' long. One placement was a few feet longer, but he was able to extend the included line set a few more feet and therefore charged me an extra $50. If I had some forethought, I probably could have called the company and ask for a longer line set for a minimal charge. BTW, I was able to speak to a live person fairly easily, as I needed a 18-9-9 configuration and I didn't want any hiccups with the install. Really, everything went perfect, but my installer was basically the head troubleshooter for a fairly large company doing a side-job. I also checked around a bunch, an equal system installed was between $7-8k, so I saved quite a bit of money and would have perhaps been more without the SQ warranty, but I have some piece of mind...for 5yrs anyway, lol.... PS*UPDATE* Total POS, complete cascading failure, first the reversing valve then registers. Completely DEAD!

These things have already reduced my electric bill by about 50% - if you're handy, you can install them yourself - BUT, THE THERMOSTAT ON THE REMOTE IS USELESS - [updated June 17, 2017] - I've had two units for about a year or more now, thus far no freon links with a DIY job. The dual zone outside unity seems to be more sturdy and well built (less vibration noise, thicker metal), but one of the indoor units sometimes drips water down the wall. It's not a problem with the drain line, it's a problem with condensation formation on the freon lines and dripping down. The other indoor unit doesn't have the problem and the one with the problem is the only one with the pipes folded in to run behind the unity then exit into the wall. My other two units have the pipes exiting straight out the wall and they don't have the condensation problem. Over all, no regrets. The two units (one single zone and one dual zone) will have paid for themselves within the next 6 months, partly because of the better seer rating but mostly because I'm now only have to heat and cool the rooms/areas I'm spending time in. One HUGE BENEFIT OF THE DUCTLESS systems; my respiratory/breathing/allergy problems, and my dogs, have been reduced by about 90%. Not exaggerating This is why I removed my central system and used these ductless systems. If you count medical bills and prescriptions, I've saved over $1200 a year, and improved quality of life. They're not the perfectly designed, but they provide a great return on investment.
