The media could not be loaded. I had to modify it to work with my wooden hutch. I drilled a hole for each feeder hole in the wood and used double-sided tape to keep it flush and limit waste. The quail learned how to use it quickly.

It needs a more functional way of attaching to various types of cages, this product seems to be designed for ONE type and modifications are needed to make it work unless you have THAT cage. It works great though, our bird easily transitioned to using this feeder. The depth helps keep messy seed scatter to a minimum and poop out of the food and water which was super important to us. The feeder is a decent size and makes refilling much easier since it can be done without opening the enclosure. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because one of my Gambel Quail tried to climb through into the feeder tray and became stuck. Luckily, I was able to remove him without him getting injured. If you have smaller sized birds, be aware they could try to climb in through the feeder holes and become stuck. ... show more
