Let me preface this by saying I KNOW this product. I have been using Phyto Defrisant since the 90’s. It has been my go-to product to straighten my curly hair. I would typically buy it at the local salon in the largest size but they stopped carrying it. I was happy to find it on Amazon and had purchased a few times here. I noticed the product did not work as well, but not bad enough that I would return it. I chalked it up to maybe an old batch, maybe my hair needed a deep condition etc etc. But with this last purchase the results were downright HORRIBLE. I washed and conditioned my hair as usual with the same products I always use. Then I applied Phyto Defrisant as usual. I started to blow dry. I use a professional Silver Solano dryer that gives amazing blow outs. Almost immediately during the blow dry my hair began to frizz and was difficult to comb through. I finished the dry and added the same finishing products I always use. I was left with frizzy dry puff ball hair that was so hard to comb through I had to immediately wash my hair again and start over. There was no way I was going anywhere with my hair looking so bad. This time I did a DEEP DEEP conditioning and (hesitantly) applied the Phyto Defrisant again. After another blow dry I ended up with the same results, maybe a tad less frizz because of the deep conditioning. But with the amount of deep conditioning I did I could have dried my hair straight with less frizz without the Defrisant product. I am including photos of the results from the two different blow dry attempts and one showing how my hair usually looks (profile picture). Mind you the 2nd photo is after an intense conditioning treatment that would normally leave my my hair glossy and beautiful. Nope. My hair looks dry, frizzy and terrible. I have had to wear it in a bun the last couple days to hide it. I am SO upset I wasted $30 expecting the results I have been used to from this premium product line. Instead wasted my time washing and and blow drying my hair TWICE (which is not easy) to get the same horrible frizzy results. I truly believe this product made my hair worse. I hope the damage is not permanent. I am debating contacting Phyto to see if this product is either counterfeit or old. If not maybe they changed the formula so drastically that I can no longer use this as my go-to straightener. Either way I am beyond upset. I now have to go searching for a new straightener after over 20yrs of using this product. I may give it one last try and buy direct from the Phyto website. Although this experience has made me hesitant to buy a Phyto product ever again. I will probably never buy a hair or cosmetic product from Amazon again. This place has become rife with knock offs and counterfeits. Amazon is aware and says they are trying to crack down. I really hope that’s not the case here but honestly with the horrible results I got that’s how I feel. Hopefully I can get a refund for a complete waste of time and terrible results. ... show more

Can’t live without this!! I found this product about 22 years ago and cannot say enough! It is light weight, not sticky, not runny, just the perfect texture and perfectly calms & tames my curly hair. It helps so much to make it look smooth when I flat iron my hair out. I love love love this. It makes my hair feel and look amazing! I am a total product junkie, I’ve tried hundreds of serum‘s over the years and this is simply the best one out there! I highly recommend this. If your hair is not curly or wavy it is still great because it adds some thickness to the hair. The best smoothing stuff out there! Not really a serum, but not really a gel.
