Just set mine up on my 69 gallon reef tank and i'm very impressed with how bright this light is! Like DO NOT stare directly at it with the whites turned all the way up.. it will burn your eyeballs lol 😂 I have been searching for a bright "budget friendly" upgrade light for my tank for awhile now and glad i came across this one. It seems very sturdy and well built and i really like the simplicity with the controls. Just two dials and a switch (my dials do not look like the pictures though and have no white lines for intensity measurement, but that's alright with me). I do have a few minor complaints with it, however. As a few others already mentioned in the reviews the steel cables it comes with do seem very thin and i am kinda worried with how well they will hold up and don't even bother with the cheap carabiner clip. I will probably upgrade the cables to something stronger in the future. Also the power cord is super short. Had to get a very long extension cord to even begin to reach the outlet. Other than that i'm pretty happy with it so far! Super excited to see how well my corals grow under it and only time will tell to test it's durabilty in the long run!

Maybe more of a blog than a review, but hey if you have some time, so do I. I've just stepped into the planted aquarium hobby about a year ago. I've dabbled quite a bit with salt water aquarium before this and decided to try out a few freshwater planted tanks. I experiment quite a bit with different lighting fixtures, water parameters and substrates. One thing I've found, is lighting has a drastic affect on balancing a planted tank. I went down the lighting rabbithole, researched the science behind lighting for plants (and microbial life too!), I tried 5 different lights for my 10 gal, heavily planted shrimp tank before coming across this fixture. Having failed to balance this tank with any previous light (before shrimp were involved for those who are concerned) I didnt hold much hope into this relatively cheap option, but it had the power, and it had the spectrum, so I gave it a shot. After about a week or 2 my plants started BOOMING!! My dwarf baby tears (which almost died off) started pearling, something I had never seen. Soon after, algea started to become a big nuisance. I dial back the output to a little less than half and run the light only 6 hours a day. My plants still loved it and the algea died back with a little help from seachem excel. I still run it on the same output and timing. Being the second cheapest light Ive tried, I can't hardly believe the results. I've been running it for I think 5 or 6 months now, so far very solid growth. One thing I have noticed, is the dials (which i believe are called pulse modulators) are a bit on the cheaper side, for obvious reasons. They do tend to be finicky when making adjustments and also, probably the reason people report it having a short life span. Though I can't confirm because mine is still in working condition, I believe these could be easily replaced for about $15 per dial and a soldering iron. If just 1 channel goes out, that could be the culprit. In any case, these lights are pretty simple and LEDs don't often "burn out" so any problem presented is likely an easy fix for those willing to troubleshoot. Overall great light, I hope it becomes available again in the future, I would like to use them on my 40 gallon planted breeder next!

These lights are very bright, they appear to be built decently well, are quite large, but compared to more expensive lights appear to give me the light output and range I was looking for, just with a lack of a auto dimming/ off function (which I currently just use a smart plug to do ((just off and on, no dimming)), although it is not natural, the fish do appear to get used to it). The hanging fixtures are very long with the lights hanging about 12 inches lower than their anchor point, so I just doubled mine over for my custom hangers and it seems to be doing the trick. Overall I’ve heard the blues go out in about a year so if that happens then that would be the worst part of these lights in which I may go with a more expensive set. However, as a beginner to the reef tank hobby these are very simple, and functional for me right now.

Excellent light for the money. I turn the white LEDs to minimum, it would be better if it comes with more of the blue ones but still it’s more than enough light. The wider dimension gives it better coverage than the competitors. You can get away with just one light on a 36” wide tank by placing less light demanding corals on the corners. After watched the black box LEDs review from BRS with the concern on the inferior power supply catching fire, I was pleasantly surprised to find out it comes with a CE approved power supply in its own enclosure inside. The two fans produce some noise but keep the light very cool. It ships with only four wires and hooks, not enough to hang the light right out of the box but a trip to the hardware store and $6 solved the problem. Love the bright and sharp color of the LED, color mixes very well, no disco light effect. The only place you’ll notice some separation of color is in the edge of the dark shadows. Corals show much more color compare to t5 specially in the green and red spectrum. So far the corals seem to like it. I would recommend it

I have just got the light Hung and I must say it looks great over my 29 gallon Tank. The fans are quiet and lights are very bright. I would like to say they make my corals pop but I am just starting up a tank. I will post further as the tank matures on that note. The package arrived quickly and product was in great shape. The lights has 2 dimmers and one power cord and power switch. This means you can not turn them on and off independently from each other with a timer or Controller. You can turn them off with the dimmer switches one for blues and one for the colors and whites. Very nicely made, feels well built. Good reefing!
