The installation was very simple and the sound level is adjustable and is loud enough to be heard throughout our 2000ft2 condo. I bought this wireless doorbell because it's completely battery powered and has a super bright LED flash. However, I also wanted a silent mode (full disclosure: I'm using this in my cubicle at work so people can get my attention since I wear headphones and have my back to the room). This does not have a mute or silent mode out of the box, but it's quick and easy to change that. Remove the batteries, unscrew the four screws, and open it up. The speaker hooks into a little connector. Just pull that out, reassemble, and you have a silent doorbell! Best of all: If you ever wanted to enable the speaker again down the road, all you need to do is open it up again and pop the connector back into place. Simple. I expected to need to clip wires and destroy this thing to make it silent, but happily I don't have to. ... show more
