I lost all my lower molars a cpl years ago for various health reasons. Except the last back 2, thank God. It’s been very difficult to chew ever since and my diet changed and threw me into a hospital visit from lack of salt over Labor Day weekend by ambulance. Had only been able to eat soft Pure Bars with very little “ real food”. I saw this little handy dandy for a price even on my Medicare disability income ( very very little to allow any extras, needed or not) . It worked beautifully.. Tried it out last night on a celery and chicken salad n I could lactually chew and for first time in 2 years , can enjoy good, healthy food! My diet is extremely limited, but it does the job just fine. It is small and will work great for people w out disabilities to use for chopping various items as it’s described, for larger recipes. I make up a weeks worth and just spoon a helping in the basket, press down n Voi la! I’d say the only draw back is if you need for use for more than one, you might want a bit bigger processor as this basket holds plenty for one pre made salad, or dish, but wouldn’t be sufficient for a family. Even would probably work for 2 if you can eat other things with your salad and it’s not your only meal. Pics trying to show actual basket size. Clean up was a breeze. Not complicated at all to put together and use. Really great purchase for the price!! One happy, but more importantly, back on the road to a healthier lifestyle, customer! This gadget was amazing for the 2 years I had it until it broke - super helpful whenever I needed to chop a large amount of onions or veggies for a soup. It had a little trouble with carrots and celery but did wonderfully with onions which was the main reason I bought it. You just have to remember to put the cover on BEFORE the motor (sometimes I would forget and think it stopped working but it was just that I forgot the cover. Finally the motor did actually stop working. Debating re-buying even though it crapped out after 2 years, because it really was handy when I needed it... ... show more

What a complete POS. The standard blade is literally rounded. No cutting edge whatsoever. It pulverizes instead of chops. Want chopped nuts? You'll get nut butter instead. The "drop chop" blade is sharp, but it, and the basket you have to use it with are only good for one thing: finely chopping onions. Even that makes little sense... The instructions tell you to first chop the onion into 1/4" dice. Why would I go through the process of setup and cleaning of this if I have to chop my onions before I use the machine? Elsewhere, it says you can halve the onion, but only a small one will fit. Tried their customer service. Was dropped three times after a roughly 20 minute wait each time. Call me a sucker. Run, don't walk away from this thing. ... show more

This product is awesome. I have a couple of small choppers but they chop til the ingredients are a paste. With this one you chop in a bowl and the pieces go through the tiny holes and you're left with chopped veggies. Not a paste. I use it for onions, tomatoes, garlic and scallion. I will not use it for harder stuff because after reading some other reviews I don't want to take that chance. But it's excellent for what I use it for. ... show more

I bought this cause i hate dicing carrots like for mirapoix and also i was thinking maybe i can replace my small food processor wih it. Dicing carrots take long time, i would avoid it if possible. So i tried this with carrots, onions and celery and it worked as it says it does. The pieces are not uniformly sized but i don't care anyway . Im not looking for perfection, i'm after the convenience, less time spent on prepping. Clean up is not bad, i hand washed it. Just be careful with the blade. It would take me longer to dice carrots than cleaning it up. But i realized i cannot replace my small food processor with it cause this one, the motor is on top, you cannot drizzle oil while processing if your recipe calls for it. But i still give it a 5 star. Oh i also tried manual dicing tools from other maker. Its not easy to use them on carrots and potatoes, i havee to slice them thin so the dicer can cut through them. ... show more

Very disappointed that it would not chop carrots. Did a nice job with onions; although a second size option that is larger would be nice. Basically, it’s a nice unit for the money, but the carrot issue was a deal breaker and I returned it (something I usually don’t do.)
