How do you not love Philips Hue lights? They are so cool and generally work well that you figure they are worth the price tag. So, you buy a bunch more. HOWEVER....with such a high price tag, they had better be reliable. They are not as reliable as they should be. I've had a number of very expensive pieces of equipment, including this power supply, go bad in less than 2 years. Be prepared. You are going to spend a lot of time troubleshooting and spending more money to replace items in your system that have failed. And Philips definitely does not stand behind their products – service takes you into a black hole of non-native English speakers. One of my power supplies had a serial number that was known to be defective. The Philips website says if you send in a photograph of the unit with the serial number they will send you a new power supply. Forget about it. Nothing but wasted time on the phone with people that have not helped. Beware! UPDATE: they finally came through with a replacement -- and replaced the bulbs that failed as a result of the power supply failing! ... show more

So, these are obviously on the expensive side. In addition to buying the light, you have to buy the power source separately. The downside is is that each power brick only has enough to illuminate one of these lights. All that being said, just like all the other Philips hue lighting products, these are excellent.     • Let me run two outdoor strips for my deck rail

We used this to drive two outdoor light strips for the underside of our deck rail. The install was easy as possible- two screws to hold it in place, and plug it in to the wall and lights. That’s it! Immediate landscape lighting at its most simplistic.

I bought these Philips Hue lights for my front yard since it’s very small (I only need 4 lights) and I wanted to do it myself (so it had to be easy). This product fit the bill perfectly! It was very easy to install - no need to add a transformer since it’s already included in this power supply. In addition to the power supply, I bought one Calla outdoor pathway light, three Lily XL outdoor spotlights, three cable extensions, and a Hue bridge. I am very pleased with the results. I was concerned that the light cast from the Lily XL spotlights would be too wide (I wanted to regular spotlights but they were sold out) but I find that these spotlights cast a lovely soft glow into a large tree and softly frame my front windows to accent the architecture of my home. I have an Echo Dot which can be used in lieu of the Hue bridge but opted to buy the bridge instead since I do not use my Echo Dot all the time. Set up was very simple. I downloaded the app and it’s easy to change light colors and routines. These lights are a little expensive compared to other landscape lighting options but Philips Hue landscape lighting was a better option for me since I didn’t need that many lights. If I had a large yard and needed more lights or knew I’d never want to change the light colors, it might make more sense for me to get other landscape lights. But this was a perfect option for me! I liked the flexibility and easy connections. Watch how you order this product. Extra cable will come in handy for bigger projects. Simply lay it out, screw the ends together and cover with mulch or something. Absolutely love my Hue outdoor lites.

It works, wish it was a little longer. My power outlet is in the middle of my small place and the cord doesn’t quite reach exactly where I wanted it. Another 3 feet would be ideal. Working everyday buried in the ground for about 4 months now.
