Here's what I like about this machine: #1 It's very compact considering all the functionality, #2 Well designed and high quality, #3 Brews a great latte , #4 The portafilter has a pad that catches the sink edge for support when you tamp the ground coffee with the calibrated tamper, #5 It was easy for me as a first timer to learn to use , #6 the milk jug has a built in thermometer than allows lets you know the milk temperature as you froth the milk for a consistent result.     • Pretty good, issues with 20g dosing
So this machine is pretty good. Philips did a good job at adding nice touches like a rubber pad under the portifilter for tamping on the counter. It brews well, accurate grind and water dosing once you get it set. I think my only grip is a poor execution on the portifilter funnel. It's flimsy. Awkward to get in there. The main issue is on a 20g dose the funnel thing is over filled so when you remove it you loose a gram of coffee. You really need a tamper or wooden dowel that can go threw the black funnel to stuff the grinds down prior to removing the funnel. The double dose basket is 58mm which is cool but it's too shallow. If it was deeper the grinds wouldn't be over flowing into the grind funnel. I'm not sure if a aftermarket basket can fix that. I'd like to see average grind range in grams on the grind volume amount.     • Don’t Buy! Failed within days - Tried with 2 different machines.
When it worked it was lovely. The first one, bought on Prime Day, failed to reach pressure, bypassed the filter basket, and sent water out the americano tube about 8 days after first use. Philips tech support knew less about the machine than we did. We are past baristas and liked the function of the machine so we opted to pay more and try again with a second machine. The second one worked for two days and then the steam wand failed to have pressure - just a dribble of water. Thankfully Amazon’s return policy allowed us not to be out $$$ for an item that fails so quickly. I cannot recommend this machine - it appears to have a design flaw. This is an amazing espresso machine. It grinds the beans perfectly and is super customizable for quantity and ground size. The espresso brews evenly and the milk steamer makes amazing foam. This is a great all in one machine!

First espresso machine and it was fairly easy to get the hang of it! Appreciate the inclusion of essential accessories (the temperature strip on the milk carafe is amazingly helpful!). The espresso taste is exquisite & we’ve tried multiple brands now, the machine just does such a great job!
