First of all the actual box arrived opened (unsealed , inside other box), Milk container was missing!! This meant to be a brand new, sealed unit, so ended up returning it back, waste of time & efforts! Busted a fired later to found he just got the same exact machine, even same color (luckily no missing parts) so we ended up putting in good test, but truly ended up packing his and return it as well :). NOW, As for the machine itself, if you like coffee taste, this is not yours, brewing group and dosing size in grams is VERY shy for adequate coffee taste/aroma/crema, Off course, with less grinding time, small puck size, you end up with browny WATER not a cup of coffee. I personally/eventually went with De'Longhi Magnifica Plus, and YES! It is the earth and heaven difference. ... show more

Wow, best coffee related purchase ever. So many ways to adjuast any of the 20 drinks ot offers! UI seems easy to use and self explanatory. BONUS, it makes the house smell great. It seems to be constructed very well with good quality materials. GThe Latte Go feature ios super easy to keep clean and it the instructions on screen are very easy as well. hard to mess up. My only comeent would be to watch the bean hopper, sometimes it needs a little to keep the well filled, I would purchase this agin. ... show more

Family favorite. The biggest problem here is you will end up making a lot of coffee, and some very incredible hot chocolate and about a million other things. Definitely gets a lot of good use. Great morning cup, even if a little smaller, but it is easy to make a double. Love trying the variations. The steamer is able to do quite a bit, and it is easy to clean.     • Convenient way to get quality espresso coffee drinks

The media could not be loaded. I’ve owned the 5400 for almost 5 years before it started not cleaning properly I feel there’s a blockage in the coffee spout. But it still made coffee. So i replaced it with this 5500 model. I’ve noticed the improvements a quieter grinder more of a seal on the coffee bean holder. And more of a seal on the milk holder top. Give it at least your first 20 or so drinks before fully judging the taste of the drinks. To adjust grinder push down while its grinding counter clockwise is finer clockwise is more course. Only move it one click at a time. It gives nice foam for your cappuccino and lattes. And a good creama on top of your coffee and espresso. If you’re coming from the pod system or regular coffee maker you won’t be disappointed. Just make sure it’s turned off when taking out the brew group there’s a lock system. Rinse it off weekly. Grease it monthly. For reference I love a strong full flavored coffee I always use the extra shot feature in my drinks. ... show more

Coming from a Jura and we love it. Will see how long she lasts but the additional warranty from Philips upon registration was a nice surprise. Milk frother actually works and is easy to clean. Find myself making a cappuccino quite often due to the ease of use and of course the flavor and the frothed milk! Have only scratched the surface of all this thing can do. Only slight complaint is the bean hopper feeds of to one side, and due to the build, beans don’t always make their way into the grinder. So sometimes machine thinks it’s out of beans before it really is. ... show more

I’ve had this for 4 months now. It’s easy to clean and the milk system works well (including with non-dairy milk). It’s nice that it has a bypass option to make, for example, a decaf cup. It has lots of options and within drink options, you can further optimize the amount of espresso (double shot), milk or foam. The grinding is quiet, but the milk and brewing is very loud. The water capacity would be better if it was 25% larger, but is ok as is. The coffee strength is on the weaker side, so i have set to finest grind and often do a double shot. The size is good and the ability to adjust the height of the dispenser allows for small/medium height travel mugs. Would be 5 stars with greater water capacity, quieter operation, slightly stronger coffee strength and the ability to accommodate larger travel mugs. ... show more
