  • Big unit... Big flavor
Style: 2200 Series Classic Milk Frother
Received this as a gift and I love it. Fresh ground coffee by the cup. It makes great coffee. The unit is larger than most coffee makers, but fits well under the cupboard. Pros: make great coffee. Cons: has a few quirks, but watching a YouTube or two you can figure out out. Makes noise at startup and while grinding the beans, so if you need to brew in silence... This is not the one for you. Seems sturdy and self cleaning... Maintenance is simple. ... show more

  • Barista coffee at home, without fuss!
Style: 2200 Series Classic Milk Frother
We had this machine over a year and it is still going strong. Makes a great cup of coffee with your favorite beans. It will need to be cleaned and greased every so often but well worth it to me. I love the frother for the milk as well. I would buy this again!

  • Received Damaged and not in original Packaging-- Mediocre Coffee
Style: 2200 Series Classic Milk Frother
The Philips 2200 coffee machine I received had obviously been unpacked and poorly repacked in the original packaging. Perhaps it had already been returned by another customer prior to me receiving it. Not only was it not in new packaging, it was also damaged. The back panel was pulled away and showing the inside of the machine. I have ordered another Phillips 2200 and I hope it comes in its original new packaging. I want to be able to give a good review of it in the future. Edit: I very quickly received a new machine from Amazon. I have now used it for a few weeks and I am sad to say it is not great coffee. It is just okay coffee. For an okay cup of coffee I program my Philips 2200 for the most amount of beans with the least amount of water. I must do this twice to fill my 14 ounce Ember cup. The result is standard American restaurant coffee. It is certainly not close to the robust coffee I can get at my local coffee shop (as some have claimed in these reviews). Edit 2: Today is 6/2/2024. I have had my Philips 2200 for approximately 8 months. Yesterday, the grinder stopped working. I can hear it turning, but it is not grinding the coffee beans. I do not recommend this machine. I have changed my rating from 2 stars to 1 star. ... show more

  • Life changing
Style: 2200 Series Classic Milk Frother
I always loved drinking darker coffee and preferred espressos/ Americanos. But I am 2 kids deep and just don't have the patience for an elaborate coffee bar. The 2200 checked all boxes for me: easy to use, easy to maintain, minimal waste, quick and delicious cup of coffee any time every day. This was worth the long term and hefty investment. I already know that it paid itself within 6 weeks for us. Don't be fooled by all the pictures and review about mold found in the machines. It is 100% user error and 200% user negligence. I like the low daily maintenance of the 2200. But I am invested enough to clean it weekly to ensure I get great coffee throughout the work week. These users reporting mold in their puck bucket and throughout the brewer also most likely don't clean their air fryer as frequently as they should either. I hope I don't ever come across any of their potluck dishes in my lifetime. I love this machine. As a working mom, I advocate for the 2200 a thousand times over. I'm excited to spread the good news! ... show more

  • Pretty good, especially for the price.
Style: 2200 Series Classic Milk Frother
Purchased two. One for home, one for office. Had a Saeco Vienna Plus and a De'Longhi ESAM 3300 for 10 years before they both failed pretty much simultaneously. The Philips works fine with a couple of gripes. The bean hopper is too small and doesn't feed the beans into the grinder very well. You have to push them to the front left corner every morning. One of the machines requires you to push in the water reservoir much more firmly than the other. Coffee is sooooo much better than pods or drip. I love being able to add an extra shot to my cup of coffee. ... show more

  • This is not a pure expresso machine that does it all.
Style: 2200 Series Classic Milk Frother
Yes, I am a coffee snob with experience in making coffee and espresso. Over the years, I've owned many coffee machines, including espresso machines, percolators, drip machines, and French presses. This particular machine claims to do it all, and while it does, it does so poorly. The manufacturers combined many functions to create an all-in-one machine, but most of these functions work minimally at best. I was super excited when a co-worker told me about fully automatic espresso machines that produce amazing cups of coffee. Since I love espressos and wanted to eliminate my Keurig at work, this sounded like a perfect solution. I'll be able to enjoy expresso and/or coffee with a simple touch of the button. The Keurig was making okay coffee, but I usually preferred my percolator for that perfect cup. Learning about this all-in-one option got me quite thrilled. However, the espresso feature is the best part of this machine, which isn't saying much. It still makes very poor coffee. The break-in period can be long and challenging for many users. The manual explicitly states not to adjust the grinder settings for at least 100 cups or one month. In my opinion, that’s far too long to wait for a decent cup of coffee. Additionally, when switching from espresso to regular coffee, there should be different grind settings available, which this machine lacks. You can only adjust the grinder with two knob turns after each use. Therefore, if you want to change the grind from coarse to fine, you have to make several cups to see the difference. I've had super high hopes, but I'd have to say I'm returning this machine. After days and hours of research, I think I've decided to purchase the Ninja all-in-one expresso maker. It allows you to change your grind from expresso to coffee with the push of a button, moving the grinder to the appropriate number. Unlike the Breville machine, which is timed, it uses a geometric scale to measure your grinds. A number of coffee experts on YouTube compared the 2 machines, and it appears Ninja was beating it in every way, including the amazing 500-dollar price mark. The 1500-dollar Breville machine went toe to toe with the Ninja in most reviews. ... show more
