I’m writing this from the standpoint of expectation vs results. This headlamp met and exceeded my expectation. I originally purchased one at REI. Since the pandemic, I got one for my wife from here. Light has 3 levels and a red/flasher option. Bright is too bright since it attracts bugs, low is perfect. Battery life exceeded my expectations. Usb charging ability is a huge plus. I don't like changing batteries. I don't like buying batteries, let alone tossing out old ones and installing new ones. I don't even like pulling out rechargeables, charging them, and putting them back in; it sort of ruins my day. This Bindi rechargeable headlamp has a nifty little micro USB port to charge, which is the same as MANY of our other devices; charges in a few hours, and lasts for weeks. There are three steady white light settings and the lowest of them is still functionally bright and lasts FOREVER; my wife reads by the light of the lowest setting, every night, for days and days before needing the occasional recharge (I think it's like 50 hours). It's reasonably comfortable considering it has a round cord strap, but some people might prefer wearing it over a hat or something; I've never worn it on my head for long hours. If I was using it to get around in the dark, I would hang it around my neck, like a necklace and it would light my feet and immediate surroundings. Often starting runs when dark and then becoming light, I was looking for a smaller headlamp that still had some power. I found this to be perfect in that it’s light and compact on my head. This headlamp provides a lot of illumination for its size. The battery lasts only a few hours, but recharging is not big deal and one shouldn't expect more from such a small unit. What I really like is the fact that I can wear this headlamp like a necklace and pivot the lamp at the angle that I need light. There's no need to wear it around your forehead and you hardly feel it around your neck. I have bought two of these already and highly recommend this headlamp for everyday use. ... show more

If you run and you use a headlamp, you should buy this Petzyl light. The body is about the size of a 9v battery and easy to stash in a pocket once the sun comes up on those long runs. The beam is wide to where it covers my prehiphiril vision and a little stronger in the center.
