I breed and show, and have puppies that I fly all over the US to new homes. I had used a quilted, VERY EXPENSIVE Sherpa brand carrier up until I bought this- found it returned to a Petco that discounted it to cost since it had been opened and didn’t have a box. It was getting sad and saggy after 9 deliveries across the country, and I needed a new one that offered a little more room as I had a large Pointer puppy that needed to fly to TX- he would NOT fit in the Sherpa. Enter this magnificent carrier!!! For the price, I expected a one or two time use and it to be flimsy, and would look cheap in person. How about this is an over-engineered work horse that looks very expensive? Heavy durable mesh, zippers everywhere to get your pet in and out, but secure with fastex-style buckles so they can’t escape. ALL FOUR SIDES HAVE MESH. If you have ever been in a warm airplane, imagine how hot it must get under the seat- this carrier makes it so air flow isn’t an issue for the puppy, even on top. Easy to carry, easy to lift, easy to set up and fold down when done- it’s fantastic. The top expanding area though is the crown jewel of this carrier! For a larger puppy it made it so when we weren’t on the plane, he had room to sit up some and easily turn around. He was so much more comfortable and quiet as a result. It’s easy to collapse the top back down to slide under the seat, yet doesn’t impact the puppy’s space when you do. Photo of the actual carrier under the seat, and how large of a puppy was transported, meeting his new owner at the airport. I couldn’t believe at 18 pounds he fit! Once I arrived home from this delivery, the Sherpa carrier went into the trash. I’m considering buying a second one of these to have a back up, in case they would somehow be discontinued! NOTE: this carrier fits all the major airline requirements for size that will fit under any plane sized seats, with the top pushed down. So many carriers are too long, too high, or too wide. Which is important- there are a lot of people that get to the airport only to learn their carrier is too large!

Have not taken it on an airplane yet, but so far so good! I was really worried it would be too tight to fit my 3y/o 10 lb Yorkie comfortably, but even with the top squished in my little guy fits with room to move and turn around! Set it up so he could get used to it and he immediately started using it to take a nap, so I’m confident he’ll be comfortable for our upcoming flights. All pictures included are of him in there by his own choice. The zippers do seem a little weak, but I think as long as they aren’t ripped or forced around the corners they will hold up just fine. I like that they have clips so even if he tries to open it, it should stay shut. Both the frame and the bottom board are nice and sturdy to keep it from folding under the weight of the dog, however there is no cushioning whatsoever. I plan to add in some foam, as the bottom has a zipper you can open up to wash the cover. The top folds down well and doesn’t take too much space away from inside, saw some people complaining about that but it’s only an issue if your dog is already really tight inside. Really good deal for a decent carrier! Hoping it holds up for the whole trip, will update if anything goes wrong.

This is a well designed and sturdy cat carrier. My 10 pound cat is very suspicious of carriers, but I left this one out and open for three weeks, and the other day, he just jumped in through the top and went to sleep for four hours. The bed is soft and comfortable with a washable cover and a rigid bottom plate that easily supports the cat’s weight and is also washable. There are several zippered openings, including a front door, and more importantly from my standpoint, the entire top opens with zippers, revealing a surprisingly large space inside. That was how my cat went in to take his nap, and how I put him in when the time came to go to the airport. All of the zippers can lock in place. Alaska Airlines barely glanced at the carrier and there were no questions about allowing it on the plane. The top can be pulled up an extra 3 inches or so to give the cat more headroom when not under the seat. The expandable top is easily pushed down to fit the airline’s height limitation.

I bought 3 other carriers from Amazon before settling on this one. The pros: it is the perfect size for Southwest Airlines, it has multiple straps that allow you to carry it over your shoulder/cross body style, by hand or hook on to your roller bag. It has multiple zippers for access to your pet that also have strong clips to keep zipped so your pet can't escape, and the pop up top gives your pet more space inside the carrier (however when you put it under the seat in front of you during the flight, you have to push the pop up down), it is sturdy and has thin bed inside with a zippered cover that you can remove for washing. My only complaints about this carrier is I wish it had a zippered pocket t o securely put things in and that it had 2 end entry points. There is a good sized pocket but it doesn't have a zipper, so I was hesitant to put anything in it that could fall out. There is only 1 end entry point which isn't a big deal, but it would be convenient to have entry points on both ends. I highly recommend this carrier.

I like this carrier, it’s built well and has a nice structure! I decided to go with this purchase after my go to dog carrier that I have been using for yearsssss was on longer available on Amazon for purchase. I like that this carrier has mesh all around it and has quite a few openings top and sides for me to open for my dog to pop his head out! The bed inside also seems nicely padded and overall my dog seems to enjoy traveling and the carrier and excited to get inside when I pull it out, although he does really enjoy flying in general! My biggest complaint and honestly my biggest headache is this carrier doesn’t fit underneath the seat well. I have only ever flown delta comfort with my dog so the side is overall a little wider but I have the HARDEST time getting the carrier fully underneath the seat, like it’s too tall! I have push and the Carrier down from the top and often have to use my feet to force the carrier under the seat it’s a nightmare and just as hard to pull the carrier out from under the seat when it’s time to deplane. All this is made even worse when a stranger is seated next to me and I am trying to move efficiently? I do wonder how much use I will ultimately get out of the carrier with all the force I have to apply to it to get it under the seat. It will wasn’t too expensive so I guess that’s the plus here.

Oh, darlings, allow me to introduce you to the vehicular throne of Nugget the Magnificent—a four-legged aristocrat of the Harlequin Miniature Pinscher variety, with a taste for nothing but the finest in mobile accommodations. This Petskd Top-Expandable Pet Carrier isn’t merely a travel bag—it is, quite frankly, a five-star luxury suite on the move. We purchased this gem last November, and ever since, Nugget has declared it his private boudoir on wheels. Whether we’re jetting off on Southwest, nipping across town in the car, or simply lounging in the living room pretending to be international jet-setters, this carrier does it all. He climbs into it voluntarily, mind you. One might even say eagerly, as if checking into the Ritz. The zippers lock (thank heavens, as he is part escape artist), the mesh panels are scratch-proof (critical, as he has dramatic fits of passion), and the whole thing looks rather sleek—none of that ghastly “tote bag with holes” nonsense. Plus, the ventilation is so superb I dare say it’s fresher inside than most boutique hotels. It’s easy to carry, easy to clean, and just the right size for Nugget’s royal derrière. He reclines, surveys, naps, and occasionally insists it be placed atop the sofa “for the view.” He’s practically besotted with it, and frankly, so am I. UPDATE! Used for our Southwest flight and it fit under the seat in front with no problem. My girl is 8lbs malshi and had plenty of room. Im 5ft so I had no issues as far as leg room. But just know it will take up that space i In front if you like to stretch your legs. This review is for product. I will update after using for my Southwest flight in a few weeks. I have purchased a few and finally will be keeping this one. This is a great quality carrier. My pup is in it taking a nap now and I've only had a few minutes. I had bought a similar verdion called Leke last week but felt it just wasn't a good quality. I did a video on comparison. This has 2 extra openings to access pup than the Leke (2 on top, one on side and one on end), carrying strap has shoulder pad. Firmer, sturdier and mesh is thicker. Padding for pup is better. Locking mechanism on zipper for any escape artist.
