  • A steal for $15.00
Color: Red Size: 22-Inch XS Dog Breeds
My cat carrier is the larger, 22 inch model - as compared to the 19 inch model. Listed dimensions: 20.70L x 13.22W x 14.09H. Before purchasing, I saw some reviews claiming flimsiness. I disagree. My 20 pound cat was very secure and comfortable in this carrier. Before using it for him, I put 25 pounds of goods into the carrier and toted it around. If I could, I would have put a sturdier handle. I don't think it was going to bend with 25 pounds of weight, but it was sort of getting to its upper limit of strength, I sensed. But other than that, it was rock solid. I drilled holes in it for adding zip ties - but that was unnecessary. The box is designed with two zip tie holes along he back, but nowhere else. The reason for this is when assembling, the top clam shell attaches to the bottom with offset teeth (see photo, taken from underneath) they are all over the perimeter, so all you have to do is mate up the teeth, then slide the top to lock it to the bottom. There are so many teeth that the connection is entirely secure. The zip ties prevent the clam shells from BACK SLIDING! So add two zip ties, but there is no need to drill more holes like I did. I thought the original holes (and the ones I were adding) were used to bind the top to the bottom. No. They merely prevent sliding / unlocking. The teeth provide plenty of binding strength. Oh yea.. the clips for adding a carrying strap look useless to me. Flimsy... but I would never ever use such a strap. I've never seen anyone use such a strap on a carrier like this, so its no loss at all. One odd little thing: there was a plastic "door" that looked like it got folded on a seam, and closed an open gap below the handle, in the 'roof' of the carrier. It seemed odd, and it bugged me. I snapped it off on purpose. You will understand once you see your carrier. The red one WAS the cheapest at 14.99. Now they are listing at 19.99.. Blue ones are 15.99. Green; 19.99 All of them are a steal at under $30.00 - my estimate of what a fair price would have been at Wally World. So the blue one at 15.99 is like you are robbing them.. This is for the larger model, remember.. 5 Stars! PS I have no affiliation with the seller. I just searched cat carriers and thought Id try this one. ... show more

  • Good product, great price

I am very satisfied with the dog carrier for my 10lb dog. It was easy to assemble. Sturdy but not heavy. Reasonably priced.

  • Great for my purpose, but not for long travel
Color: Red Size: 19-Inch "Toy" Dog Breeds
This carrier is all plastic except for the door, which is some type of metal. It works. It was less expensive when I didn't have the money to spend on a more expensive one. What I liked - Easy to assemble. My cat fits in it (and, btw, she loved the paper that came with the package as a toy. LOL) She's a small cat. The carrier is sturdy and I've had no problems that way I didn't give it five stars on sturdiness because I can see a future problem. It performs the function of a carrier really well when it's just to the car then to the house. I let my cat out while traveling. What I didn't like - It's a little small for traveling. So, if you want one for traveling, get the next size up from what you think you need. I have a small cat and I wouldn't leave her in it for traveling. The locking method for the door. It's a bit cheesy. The prongs of the door fit into "locks" that are in the carrier (you install the locks - they snap in) and you line up the locks with the grooves in the carrier. Then you turn all four locks to keep the door in place when closed. If you want the door to swing, you have to turn two of the locks. It's awkward to deal with. The locks are plastic just like the body of the carrier, and I can see this becoming an issue after a lot of use. Also, I accidentally took the door off one time and my cat escaped! (She doesn't like to be confined in any way, shape, or form.) Because the carrier came in pieces, I'm wondering about future stability. The top and bottom snap together, so I'm a little concerned that with regular use it might come apart. I've only used it four times since I got it. All in all, if one is looking for an inexpensive carrier and doesn't expect it to be a travel carrier or to put heavy animals in it, it's great. Would I recommend it? Yes, I would. I'm satisfied with my purchase, and in the same circumstances, I would purchase it again. ... show more

  • Maximum Security Kitty Prison
Color: Blue Size: 19-Inch "Toy" Dog Breeds
Chonk Taylor likes his freedom and to roam as he pleases. Cat carriers just aren't his thing. Let me explain... When he was wee, I purchased a soft-sided carrier that folded and had lots of mesh windows for him to look out of. As he grew, he became restless and meowed and squeaked at me whenever we needed to put him in there. He chewed a hole through the mesh to escape. The next carrier was better, I thought. It was a backpack carrier with a big plastic window. Much more sturdy and a nicer view and I could carry Chonk with me wherever I went. He was in it for about 3.5 minutes before he freaked out and started to scratch through the side before pushing a bean between the zipper and escaping, then running to a corner to vomit. I tried everything. Coaxing, treats, toys, blankies, calming snacks, snuggles, lectures, double-bunking with his brother...nothing. He still scratches and bites and thrashes and howls to get out. But this...this hard, plastic, unfriendly and cold carrier...this keeps him in. I put it together without even looking at the instructions, it was that easy. And despite Chonky Boi hating it, like all the others, he couldn't get out. He hasn't chewed through the plastic or the metal. So, good. I guess. I mean, he's safe. Just not happy. His brother, Fuzz Aldrin, on the other hand, enjoys his carrier. He comes when called, voluntary walks in, and sits patiently in his warm, comfy, soft mesh carrier until transport is over. I wish Chonk would do the same. ... show more
