I have been using a PetSafe fence for over twenty years with multiple large dogs. It has been the perfect solution to keep my dogs safe and contained on my 4.5 acre property. Its response can be adjusted for training, sensitive dogs and stubborn dogs. I recently had to replace the receiver for one of my dogs. I did not keep exact track, but it probably lasted over 10 years of hard use. Other than an occasional battery replacement every 6-12 months, there is no maintenance. My dogs are so well trained to the fence that even when it is broken by wildlife every other year or so, my dogs continue to respect the boundary even though it is non-functional. Way more affordable than the Invisible Fence branded products, but just as effective. Highly recommended. ... show more

The product arrived promptly when ordered. This is the 4th time I've bought this item, I now have 4 dogs. I can't say enough about how easy it was training my fur babies to identify the boundary. Its a durable material and all you have to do is screw in the battery to assemble. The value for the money is priceless for the peace of mind knowing my dogs will not leave the yard and get hurt. It is awful the nylon collar - it stretches tremendously, and frays at the adjustment clasp, and not long after does it stretch anyway. The cost is unreal, and this company knows "it has you" as there are no alternatives. I am understanding of making an income, but this is taking it too far to have an overpriced poor quality must-have collar. Why they do not have a plastic collar with a buckle / holes to use? or a better leather one to choose? because it will last longer? be better for the customers? It is certainly cheaper in company cost to have the plastic/rubber collar, and they could offer both and let the customer select... hhmmmm... The system works, but what one has to "buy into" with the collars is a legitimate complaint! As well, the batteries are poor quality - I just put a new one on, and it is not working, so it is the collar unit or the battery... too add to the issue. So I am just now "forced" to buy a new collar because: the last one will not hold (which the new one will not either) and is frayed (which the new one will do) and the box is broken (which will likely happen with the new one)... etc etc... I leave plenty of very nice reviews, this is my first review where I say the "if there were a choice of 0 stars..." that would be my rating... , ... show more

I got this Deluxe In-Ground UltraLight Receiver by PetSafe for my second dog so that they can both have collars that work with the PetSafe in ground fence that I purchased. This is easy to use and requires piratically no work to use, and is simply turned on by the tightening of the already included battery. I love that these collars are nylon (or a similar material) instead of plastic like some of the others. I think that they are more comfortable for the dogs and the fact that they also clip to attach make them very easy to put on and take off. You are able to adjust them for different size dogs but it was a bit hard for my small 12 week old pit pup because she is so small. One of the problems I had (which I didn't have with my older dog) is the fact that I know she is going to grow and so I did not want to cut it so small that I wouldn't be able to use it later on. For this I kind of folded the flap and held it down and it keeps a little extra length so that I can make it longer as she grows. It comes with a few different size prongs so you can use it for dogs with short, medium and long hair.
